  Re: New Spiderman LEGO movie

(...) Hi Jake, I just bought a Doc Ock's Hideout Spiderman set, and I am very impressed with one specific aspect of it. That would be the (7) 1x4x5 gray windows that come with it. The window sticker sheets that come with it are awesome. They turn a (...) (20 years ago, 2-Jul-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, FTX)

  The #309 Church set revisited...

This followup was sent to just lugnet.inst. However, I am reposting it to lugnet.general, since my reply is of a more general nature..... G. Istok (...) This set was produced from 1957 (when classic Lego windows first came out) until about 1963. The (...) (20 years ago, 10-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Anyone have instructions for set #309 (Church)?

(...) This set was produced from 1957 (when classic Lego windows first came out) until about 1963. The set had one tree, one of the 1950's style flat Pine trees with a flat bottom. One interesting thing is the named beam (sign). On the box it shows (...) (20 years ago, 10-Jul-04, to lugnet.inst)

The first Lego color change of 1962-70

Well I see that the color change of 2004 has generated some strong emotions... The first color change (of modern Lego starting in 1957) was that of 1962-70. TLG replaced Cellulose Acetate with ABS Plastic, and in doing so the colors red, yellow and (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.color)

Been away for 3 years, asking a lot of questions...

OK, when you've been away for 3 years like I have, there are a few questions that bear answering. Like where do the Bricklink folks get their parts? I assume that they get much of it directly from TLG. Otherwise how could one come across so many (...) (20 years ago, 29-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

I agree, the 2x2 inside corner bricks are missing from the new service packs, as is the 2x2 gable connector ridge slope (the one that looks like someone took (...) (...) Thanks Mark, Deja Vu.... I was looking at your store this afternoon, and saw the Maersk blue trove of goodies. :-) I was checking Peeron to see what colors the 2x10 bricks came in, and Mark, your store hit the jackpot in Maersk blue, hence my (...)   Re: 1 by bricks without center studs

(...) As Tom Garrison mentioned in the other post, they were produced in all the Trans+ colors. However, the 1x4 without posts underneath were not produced in any solid colors. The 1x2, 1x6 and 1x8 bricks were made as far back as the mid 50's (but (...) (20 years ago, 16-Aug-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: instructions for set 329

(...) I'll answer about the sign and the tree. The sign comes from parts pack #232 (1958-65) or #489 (1966-69). These were superceded in 1969 by the taller signs that could attach to Lego studs. The only sets that had these types of signs were #810 (...) (20 years ago, 16-Aug-04, to lugnet.general)

  Errors in Lugnet Set Database

Is there a procedure in place in LUGNET for notification of set errors in the LUGNET database? Is there one for adding old sets not currently in the database? I was browsing some old 50's and 60's sets, and came across some errors: 1) 810 European (...) (20 years ago, 16-Aug-04, to lugnet.general)

Very pleased with Lego parts availability....

I have to say that I am very happy with the direction TLG has been taking in regards to spare parts lately! I know that some folks have some issues with quality and with color (I won't go there!). But remembering back to 2000 when we nearly had a (...) (20 years ago, 19-Aug-04, to lugnet.general)

(...) Thanks Sven for the wonderful pictures of "the vault", Lego's own archives. I was especially interested in 2 photos.   Future Lego Services.....

I have been getting a lot of requests recently about old sets on EBAY, or old sets that folks may already own. And sometimes I tell the people to avoid the set because the parts are not original.   Re: LEGO Inside Tour (New theory on color change: stock dyes)

(...) The Samsonite Lego 50x50 plate was known as #799 (same number used in Europe) when it was first introduced in late 1965. But in 1968 for some reason Samsonite Lego changed it to #079 from 1968-70. If he had a 50x50 plate with green grass (...) (20 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

Early Lego 1x6 & 1x8 Bricks with Names

I was browsing thru PEERON today, and I was checking out the different 1x6 and 1x8 bricks with names ("named beams") many of them from the 1957-65 era. And I noticed that they didn't have those 1x6 and 1x8 named beams unique to the USA (Samsonite). (...) (20 years ago, 26-Aug-04, to lugnet.general)
