   Hi,

today I had the chance to visit the Lego archive in Billund. I just uploaded the pictures I made on my homepage. I had only about 40 minutes this time so I made only a few pictures. I hope you enjoy them anyway. I will add some comments asap. btw... feel free to add missing pictures to the Lugnet database (like Set 157)

Thanks Sven for the wonderful pictures of “the vault”, Lego’s own archives. I was especially interested in 2 photos.

The first one is of 1958-59 Named Beams spare parts pack #226 (if it were from before 1958, there would be 8 named beams, not 7. If the box were after 1959, the box would be black, not off white). I am not sure of the language (Danish or Dutch?). But I know it is not German. If it is Danish, it might be parts pack #1226 (the Danish packs had an extra “1” as the first digit (4 digit) number until sometime in late 1958). I have never seen an ESSO SERVICE named beam in this color.

The second one was of 1960-65 Basic sets 700/0, 700/1 (probably the ones where we can’t see the numbers, next to 700/0), 700/3a, 700/4 and 700/5. What surprises me about these is that I wouldn’t classify many of these as being in MINT condition.
