Re: Combat strategies and tactics in space. Was: Jormungand Carrier Strike Craft

(...) ...has nothing to do with reality, physics, etc. No offense, but if this thread is based on the idea of reality, the movies are a terrible place to turn for justification. The steering works best if the entire vehicle is in motion (like a car without power steering). Since it is turning all 4 wheels, more torque must be exerted to turn the steering ball than if 2 wheels were being turned. Another issue is the weight. (...) (...) Depends how much space you need to save, I guess. If you're using varchar's or text fields (for profiles certainly), you're only adding an extra... 2 bytes for a null entry? Forget if it's 1 or 2. So maybe 18 bytes extra per member. I guess (...) (20 years ago, 25-Oct-04, to lugnet.org.scibrick, FTX)

Sorry for prolonging this, but a few things in the post below trouble me.   bad motor output because of bad lego firmware?!

Hi there, I've spent the last two days trying to write a function in NQC that transfers data to the Lepomux I/O-extender. The data transfer is normally done by connecting the Lepomux to one of the motor ports. Each transition from one motor state to (...) (20 years ago, 28-Oct-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

Re: Crazy idea - analog computer

There is a lot of confusion here. It's a very similar set to (URL) Brick Vac - designed I think, to allow kids to pick up Basic sized bricks. Dunno if that model was any better at picking bricks up than the 5359.
