  Re: rtlToronto22 Ideas?

(...) So, if an outsider can ask a question-- have you guys ever done anything that's quasi "team" oriented? Like, with soccer, for instance, let's say that everyone builds player bots. Not necessarily limited to a position like "goalie" or (...) (20 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto22 Ideas?

(...) I was actually thinking of a Trucktrial competition ((URL)) you can search for some more on brickshelf there are more pictures. The only difference is that we can use the RC setup, instead of the wired setup they have. (...) He is not my (...) (20 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

  Re: Lunar Ice Harvester

(...) This is just way too cool! Kudos for the extra pictures showing some construction details also. What are the two Lego pieces that the front assembly attaches to? (URL) -mark (20 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Great Ball Contraption at BrickFest '06

There has not been a great deal of public discussion about having a Great Ball Contraption at BrickFest '06, but there WILL be a GBC at BF06. If you missed your chance last year, when we had almost fifty modules, now is the time to start building. (...)   Re: IR train base alternative

(...) It's a nice modification, but I can't help thinking it'd be better and cheaper all round to just build an IR receiver circuit for this - there's very little of the original configuration left in your mod. One mod I would like to see (to save (...) (20 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)

  Re: Dave's tears - R21 the results

(...) Alright, it's good he didn't scare you away. (...) On average it's about three or four months between events. Here's what's coming up: August 25th Brickfest DC November 3-5 Hobby Show (not really an rtlToronto thing, but) November 18-19 (...) (20 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Eccomi di ritorno!

Ciao Luca (20 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.org.it.itlug)

  Re: Dave's tears - R21 the results

(...) Hi there! Thanks! Even though I did not participate, it was really fun to watch. Now that I know Chris is just all about marketing, I'm much less afraid to participate in the next competition. Chris: who are you trying to fool? :-) Do you guys (...) (20 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto22 Ideas?

(...) I wanted to toss out one more though. One of the more common restrictions for most RTL events is starting size for a robot. In some cases the challenges have been specifically designed to work against this (bridge building, rope climbing, even (...) (20 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Official scores from rtl21--Chris didn't win... again!!!!

(...) While agree the re-running some competitions is a great idea (I know there are a few I'd like to try that I didn't the first time :) I predict rerunning this tug-of war event would end up as follows: All robots would: 1) be exactly 1.5 lbs. 2) (...)   Re: Lunar Ice Harvester

(...) The treads do roll. In fact with the whole thing weighing as much as it does, they roll quite well. The key to the whole tread system is the tensioner. It's shown here: (URL) using this part: (URL) -Duane (20 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Using Blender to animate Ldraw models

  Re: Lunar Ice Harvester

Still would be sweet to see. Do the treads roll it around as well? Bummer I missed your showing last weekend at cherry creek. Didn't know that they were having such an event. (...) (20 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  rtlToronto22 Ideas?

So...rtl21 was pretty good. As traditional, onwards to the next game...even number rtlToronto games tend to be "harder" (eg rtl10: Project X, rtl14: Rice, rtl16: Ropeclimbers etc) so this one should be a difficult one. What should it be? Vitali (...) (20 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Official scores from rtl21--Chris didn't win... again!!!!

What's it like to lose all the time, Chris? You beat me? You beat a 'bot that was made basically the day of the competition?? Eh--here's the breakdown-- 13 competitors--78 match-ups... tied for first place--Edward and John G--they both won 11 of (...) (20 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: NXT "remotes"

  Re: Virtual BrikWars?

  Re: IR train base alternative

(...) <SNIP> (...) Well, its persuaded me to go and get one to modify sometime :) (...) Seeing a the instructions are already here (in your post).
