Re: Steam Drivers by Big Ben Bricks!!! —Jason J. Railton
(...) I think it's enough so that, with the addition of the width of half the ridge around a pin, it'll stand clear. Fitting a round plate on the hub, if it clears the end of the axle, would just foul the connecting rod anyway. I think these are (...) (21 years ago, 8-Nov-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Steam Drivers by Big Ben Bricks!!! —Manfred Moolhuysen
(...) True, those two detail ideas are closly connected with eachother. The wheel as proposed by Reinhard "Ben" Beneke needs the pinhole standing out to be able to clear the stud of an added 1x1 round plate, while the other wheel by Ben Fleskes (...)          Re: Steam Drivers by Big Ben Bricks!!! —John Neal
(...) I was lucky enough to see these fantastic drivers in person last week when Ben made a visit to the GMLTC "clubhouse".          Re: Steam Drivers by Big Ben Bricks!!! —John Neal
(...) I think a "set" would be the minimum amount, say 4. If I were Ben, I'd charge $14 for a set of 4, or $24 for a set of 8. But your points are well taken: true LTDs (LEGO Train Dudes) would purchase multiple sets in various colors:-) JOHN (21 years ago, 10-Nov-03, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Steam Drivers by Big Ben Bricks!!! —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Makes sense. Except I think it's better just to sell them in pairs because you never know how many blinds you will need... it depends on what you are building... a 4-12-2 for example needs more blinds than a 4-4-0 does (21 years ago, 10-Nov-03, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Steam Drivers by Big Ben Bricks!!! —John Neal
(...) From the customer's POV; I said what I would do if I were Ben. In order to get back his monetary investment (nevermind his time investment), he is going to need to sell 1,000s of these.          Re: Steam Drivers by Big Ben Bricks!!! —Jason J. Railton
(...) Personally, I'd want to buy them in sixes. I'd guess that so would most builders of British, if not many European, locomotives.          Re: Steam Drivers by Big Ben Bricks!!! —Tim David
