Re: Train doors and windows —Larry Pieniazek
No more posts on this topic please. I don't want to go into too much detail but I have strong reason to believe the following to be true (am I certain? No. but I have strong reason) - This is a legitimate thing. Someone within TLG has received (...) (25 years ago, 25-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Train doors and windows —Larry Pieniazek
A consortium is being assembled. Stuff will be sold at one price within the consortium. To make allowances for people wanting more, or less, parts than the dollar amount they invested, that price will be at a markup from cost. Whatever parts are (...)       (...) So, in other words, If I want to buy the items rather than participate in the auction, I have to put up $500? I'm just trying to figure out how I'd go about getting items I want. :) Jeff (25 years ago, 27-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Train doors and windows —Larry Pieniazek
Yes. If you wish to get the consortium price you have to participate in the consortium. Those not willing to risk enough of their funds will not reap the reward of paying less than the market will bear. (or take the risk of losing their funds (...)            Re: Train doors and windows —John DiRienzo
Matt, I am probably interested in your "sub-consortium" but I still haven't figured out what parts are in question. Depending on how many of the parts I actually want makes a big difference on how much I am willing to pitch in. So, could someone (...) (25 years ago, 28-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Train doors and windows —Alan Demlow
The parts are train doors (L & R), 2x3 and 4x3 train windows, the glass to go with the windows and doors (these are separate #'s), and old-style sliding doors as in 7722 (I think) and accompanying track pieces.         Re: Train doors and windows —Mark Harrison
Hey Larry, This consortium, is it a group of like minded cashed up profiteering middle men or a group who are genuinely trying to get the best deal for the rest of us? Just curious.         Re: Train doors and windows —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Probably neither. It's a group willing to take a risk to satisfy their own needs, and then make available the surplus to those not willing to take that risk through a fair allocation method, that is, what the market will bear.
