Re: The first "real" train engine from Lego

(...) If we talk about the last 5 years or so, this is true. (...) A few of the older sets, but probably not all of them. I think you didn't look back far enough. Noteworthy where sets #4563 - Load N' Haul Railroad (see: (URL) ) and set #4564 - (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

The first "real" train engine from Lego

I'll be the first to admit my Lego Train experience and exposure isn't big, but I don't think I could have picked a better time to get involved, with the release of the Super Chief. I've looked a few of the older Lego sets, and the current ones, but (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

8 wide Super Chief (Kjeld was right!)

This project came as a result of a story told by Brad Justus at BricksWest 2002. I'll explain. A while back, Brad was in Billund, and he was showing off to Kjeld the pre-production 10020. As Kjeld was "Oohing" and "Ahhing" over the model, he said to (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains) !

  Re: Santa Fe distribution pattern

(...) My guess is that when we have enough sets registered to see the final pattern it will tell us how many sets there are on a pallet. The sets will come off the line and be put in boxes, the boxes will be placed on a pallet. A pallet would be the (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Santa Fe Numbers

(...) As opposed to costing another 5p (or whatever in cash), it would more likely show up as a shortcoming of the set elsewhere. Would you be willing to accept an instruction booklet that is abbreviated by 8 pages? How about getting parts that are (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Sante Fe Wish List

(...) Allow me;-) F is the *EMD* (builder) designation for the type of locomotive used to pull the Super Chief. There were actually different versions of the F (FT, F2, F3, F7), but the one chosen by TLC to model is a "300 class" (which were (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Sante Fe Wish List

(...) Zero. (...) I deserved that - Thanks Allan. I was working on the latter case, but missed a zero in my metal calc, and then, for some reason, missed the nine at the start of 99900025 ((10k-5)^2). Basically, if I wanted to get two the same I'm (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Sante Fe Wish List

(...) I can't resist this one...if you already have one Santa Fe loc and buy one expansion pack, the chances of getting a match are 1:10,000 (or, 1:9995 to account for the 5 taken out by BJ), not 1/100,000,000=(1/10,000)^2. The chances of getting (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Sante Fe Wish List

(...) Yes, I hope they don’t go for a numbered Ltd Ed run of 10,000 again. The chances of getting a match (if you buy one of each) would be ~1:10,000,000 or 1:9,900,025 if we allow for BJ taking 5 from each run! (if my Y2 stats are correct... what (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Sante Fe Wish List

I have been reading some of the interesting links some of the real Train-heads (well Rail Buffs) posted, and really like the idea of a seperate but detailed line just for the Sante Fe "series". I think it would be neat if there was a seperate coach, (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Santa Fe Numbers

(...) Thanks Bert. I've either mixed up my numbers or keyed the wrong ones into LUGNET... I hope its the latter, as I've already put them in the SF Reg...   Re: Santa Fe distribution pattern

(...) Good sleuthing! I would say that taking batches of a few hundred and directing them one way, then the other, is a fair bit of jumbling. But not as much jumbling as putting all 10000 on a waxed floor and swirling them around before repacking, I (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Santa Fe distribution pattern
