  More Royal Blue pictures

Have a few more pictures of my Royal Blue train. (Thanks Steve) (URL) this will answer earlier questions. Ben F (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains) !

Re: matching motor speeds on mutli-motor trains

I only have 7 motors, so I raced them. I started two motors next to each other, one in front of the other, and race in the forward direction and then in the opposite direction. My oldest motor is MUCH slower than my fastest. So, since I have gone (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: matching motor speeds on mutli-motor trains

(...) Just add about $1 worth of pennies to your locos...that works great as ballast. I had my Metroliner with a battery box in it for a while (6V, by blanking 2 batteries off) and it ran fine up and down any imaginable hill. James (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: matching motor speeds on mutli-motor trains

(...) I would recommend running 1 motor with a standard payload. Put it at the start of the track. Then time how long it takes to get to point B. Switch motors and repeat. Also. You can also set the power for an amount of time. Then measure to see (...) (25 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: matching motor speeds on mutli-motor trains

(...) I've noticed that the small (and stupid) engines that come with the 4559 & 4560/1 slip VERY easy. The 4565 engine is pretty good. But the all time best is my RCX Train. With the RCX right above the motor it NEVER slips! Even with 20 cars! The (...) (25 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

New German Loco: Green DB139 and more

One new model and new pictures of old models. The new model is of a German electric locomotive called a DB 139.   Re: matching motor speeds on mutli-motor trains

(...) That could be a problem, but I wouldn't expect that much wheel slippage (I'd make a SWAG that the power difference which is taken up by wheel slippage would be 5% or less of the total power difference). I'd also wonder how it would compare to (...) (25 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: matching motor speeds on mutli-motor trains

Re: matching motor speeds on mutli-motor trains

Re: matching motor speeds on mutli-motor trains

(...) In 12V days there was a service pack available with extra rubber tires if your original ones (from the 12V motor) perished or were otherwise damaged. This service pack is now highly prized as it's been out of prod for 20ish years. I am 2000 (...) (25 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)
