Re: Track laying machine... and it works!

(...) Vool track laying MOC!! It looks like it would be very much at home on any MoW work crew laying track. I have always liked mostly yellow for MoW equipment too (I've (URL) dabbled in MoW> equipement using TLG's Classic 9V stuff as a guide). And (...) (16 years ago, 30-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

ILTCO @ NMRA National Train Show - Anaheim, CA - July 18-20

Hi All, Well planning for NMRA National Train Show July 18-20 in Ahaheim, CA, has been a bit slow but we are getting the show info together. The west coast is a bit more sparsely populated so the number of clubs reflect that. Really great news is (...) (16 years ago, 29-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.announce) !!

  Spring Show wrap up!

Well that was a busy little weekend! I had a fantastic time (albeit a little tiring) and it was purely due to the people that showed up! Deb and Jason came down from our nations' capital!   Re: Track laying machine... and it works!

(...) Very Impressed! The mere fact that it works as good as it looks had me drooling. Then seeing it do it at that speed, that simply killed me! Great work! I am very very impressed and might I add, humbled. DRS (16 years ago, 27-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

(...) If you post it somewhere (compiled) I'd be happy to take a look and try and track it down for you. I don't however have the usb device so hopefully it crashes before it gets that far? (16 years ago, 27-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New Buffers appear in LDD.

(...) That's a cool idea, Dean! I hadn't thought of that possibility. It seems like that sort of system would have backward-compatibility issues with the past generation of magnetic couplers, though.   Re: New Buffers appear in LDD.

(...) Could they have North on the left, and south on the right, thus when two come together, each pole would be up against its opposite? This is the only way I can see it working, but I'm not sure what their side on strength would be. (16 years ago, 25-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New Buffers appear in LDD.

(...) At present, it looks like you can build models using these new buffers, but you cannot yet order them. Such models lead to an "out of stock" message on the LEGO Factory website. This isn't too surprising, given that these parts are not (...) (16 years ago, 23-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains)

Sneak Peek for the NMRA show

  Re: 9v Speed regulator

  Re: 9v Speed regulator

  Re: 9v Speed regulator

(...) If I were to get the UK version, all I would need to get would be a pin converter to work with Australian sockets - is that correct? We have 240v, and if I understand correctly, that is all that is needed for it to work. (16 years ago, 20-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 9v Speed regulator

(...) The LEGO power supplies all produce AC current, while most interchangable power supplies that you'll find produce DC current. I know this can overload and burn out the bridge rectifiers on the RCX 1.0, but I don't know if it'll be problematic (...) (16 years ago, 19-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 9v Speed regulator

(...) Well... maybe. By that I mean that the LEGO train transformer (as well as the RCX and NXT), are supposed to be supplied with 9-12 V *AC* current. Most little wal transformers you see supply *DC* voltage. Note that a lot of folks have used DC (...) (16 years ago, 19-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Work In Progress - #425 and my SNOTty boiler

(...) It is indeed! It's looking great. I used a very similar technique for a German BR-52 locomotive. Where you used 1-stud width of tile I used two, so my boiler came out to be 6-wide. Based on your design it looks like you might have discovered (...) (16 years ago, 19-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)
