That's a cool idea, Dean! I hadn't thought of that possibility. It seems like
that sort of system would have backward-compatibility issues with the past
generation of magnetic couplers, though. If you brought a new mag coupler in
contact with an old one, half of the new coupler would be attracted and half
repelled, making for a not-too-good connection. So, I'm not quite sure what the
secret is.
