This is a little project Ross began last year that I never got around to documenting. He was tinkering as usual, and figured out a way to lay the old 4.5 volt battery train rails 3 studs apart and make a complete loop. Here is a pic of just a curve: (...) (...) Unfortunately, LDD 2.0 no longer runs on earlier versions of Windows. LDD 1.6 ran quite happily under Windows 2000, but the new version crashes as soon as you place a brick. (...) The price of red train doors just dropped significantly! I have been watching this on BrickLink and red trains doors usually run anywhere from $4-$8, the left hand doors being more expensive. So, I got this idea of making an automated shunter for our group's exhibition layout, it would be a nice eye catcher and a great oportunity for the big trains' motors to rest and cool off.
