I've just thought of an explanation why some 2L axles have a notches a quater of the way along. I reckon it's so you can grip the end with a nail and pull the axle out of a socket hole, It's never occured to me before. Steve (24 years ago, 30-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

Yea, I kinda figured the big punp wasn't too good for the compresor pump. I did see that on your page, but I figured I'd try it anyhow. I've seen a website somewhere... A guy has done some real good testing (with help of RCX) regarding the performance of several pneum. pumps. Simple conclusion: the small one from Lego is the best, just use that one and leave the large ones with (...) (24 years ago, 29-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

unscrew the spring? I had thouhgt of that, but decided that everyone probably pops the end cap off the piston then goes from there. Unscrewing the spring is probably better for the pump, not so good for the spring, but maybe I should re-consider (...) (24 years ago, 28-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

There is a small one on my Lathe at (URL) think the one you are referring to is made with 3 #12 axles with a half bushing attached to the middle of 2 of the axles. The other axle is the drive for the worm. The bushings serve as a nut riding the (...) (24 years ago, 28-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)
