Re: naboo swamp sets real cheap

(...) I can hear everyone hissing and booing everytime someone brags about a deal and doesn't say WHERE! (I did find the same deal briefly at a KB Toy Works) (...) There's something insidiously pleasurable about decapitating mass quantities of Jar (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  naboo swamp sets real cheap

wow I came across a great deal 3 naboo swamp sets for 10 dollars. Obviously I bought out all 10 of them, I mainly wanted the battle droid figures and the green foliage. But will have numerous jar jar bings roaming around..."aiee" I thought it was (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Problems with 8009: R2-D2

(...) The lever on the side is not a lever-- it's a socket probe or tool, like in the first movie. The lever in the back pops this out. The leg is opened by pushing the horizontal bar in the front. I'm not all that keen on the look of this set (I (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Problems with 8009: R2-D2

I was wondering if anyone else had these same problems. First, instead of the right angle piece numbered 6 used in the feet, I got similar pieces numbered 5. Also, the lever on the side of the droid does nothing. I'm pretty sure it should knock the (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: 2002 SW Sets - impressions

(...) I only have the Ewok Attack (Christmas present from my daughter) but it's pretty good. It has a lot of brown, and a neat ball joint that I haven't seen before, with a hole for a technic pin. The ball socket I've seen in roboriders. I'd like a (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  2002 SW Sets - impressions

Well, we finally got the 2002 sets here in Colorado Springs, CO. So far I've managed to pickup 5 of the sets, with hopes on getting the rest shortly. The sets I've gotten so far are: 7119 - Cloud Car, 7139 - Ewok Attack, 7200 - Final Duel 1, 7201 - (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: New Sets in Ontario?

(...) No Jedi Defence II (the one with Qui-Gon, right?) in Toronto, either. I agree, weird. (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Is the Blockade Runner worth it??

Absolutely it's worth it! It also took me around 5 hours to build it, and what a blast! The way that the shape of the cockpit is achieved is terrific design because that's a difficult shape to make from bricks and plates. The parts are varied and (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jan-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Problems with Darth Vader Technic 8010

Thanks, I ended up calling Lego Consumer Afairs and they were able to help me. (I also ended up spending $300 on the UCS Yoda and the Blockade Runner) Good to know I can always get help here Wayne Kevin Powell <kpowell@si-net.com> wrote in message (...)   Re: Problems with Darth Vader Technic 8010

(...) The rotating ball has a cross-shaped hole on one end of it. The technic post or axle that protrudes from the shoulders. The post on the body goes in the hole on the rotating ball. I didn't have any trouble with my vader model, I hope you can (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Imperial Platoon Breakdown

(...) The big tripod gun would be an e-web blaster Shaun was talking about in the previous post. I found a post that shows it on the Star Wars CCG web site. (URL) seen some pretty good fan created e-web blasters... you could try the customs portion (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Imperial Platoon Breakdown

I haven't seen the movies in a while, but I seem to remember a scene in the attack on Hoth where several stormtroopers are assembling some heavy kind of laser weapon thing on a tripod, probably the equivalent of a 50 cal machine gun, or perhaps a (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Is the Blockade Runner worth it??

My son (age 5) and I just built mine and we had a blast! It's an incredible ship. It's huge too. It's my all time favorite star wars ship. A bit flimsy though, and the highly touted dark red pieces seem to me to just be cheap manufacturing. In fact (...) (23 years ago, 3-Jan-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Problems with Darth Vader Technic 8010

Just building the Dart Vader Technic and I have run into a few problems. 1st, the instructions show the body to be complete with just a post for the head, but the head instructions show a rotating ball as the connection to the body. How do I make (...) (23 years ago, 1-Jan-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Is the Blockade Runner worth it??

I own this set and it's excellent. I also have the UCS sets and I feel the RBR is every bit as good, possibly better. It is far more creative with SNOT that in the UCS sets and you'll get a *lot* of build time (it also took me about 5 hours to (...) (23 years ago, 3-Jan-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Is the Blockade Runner worth it??

i bought it, built it, loved it. there are 52 white quarter cylinder elements. after building it, i find it highly unlikely that the ship can be converted to minifig scale without altering the size and/or appearance of ship. some possibility lies in (...)   #7119 Twin-Pod Cloud Car - color report

Found my first real batch of 2002 sets at Target today. The report on the suspected 'dark red' color in the Pod Car? WRONG!! It is standard LEGO red, and the darker pieces are the standard LEGO *brown*... I'm very disappointed in this! I was really (...)
