That's exactly how I build. well... I don't sketch things out, but I do put
stuff on 'cause I think it looks cool... <G> I usually start out with
plates, design a base shape for the ship (shipshape?) and build from there.
When I get done with the main bulk of the ship I go back and build in
details. I have several MOCs that I've built this way, and I've been
pleased with all of them. I'll put up pictures once I get around to taking
some...

I think it's excellent for the style of ship it is. If you had tried to
make a fighter or a bounty hunter ship that way then it would have deserved
the negative criticism... but being that it's a freighter I don't think you
could have done any better... but I don't really want to add too much to the
pile of praise, or criticism <G>

I just love sci-fi, because you don't really need to be too concerned with
the laws of the universe as we know them. If we did then I'd have to trash
all of my models and stop watching Star Wars and Star Trek... (and B5, and
BSG, etc ad nauseum 8'D ) While I try to think "how would this hold up in
reality" when building, I don't let it keep me from putting in something
cool. I'm glad to see that others build this way too. If we put such
restrictions on ourselves we would never see great models like this one.

You can get it at Target with the Jedi Duel and the Droid Fighter sets for
$50... it's about the best price you're likely to find. I've seen it on
clearance elsewhere for around $60.00... it's a pretty good set with great
parts, with the exception that you get stuck with another Qui-Gon and
another Jar-Jar.
