    MOC: Shuriken —Kyle Vrieze
I tried to scale down the design of my last MOC, the Pinpoint, to come up with an entry for the one-man category in the Military Hover contest. The result is the Shuriken (so-named because it comes flying in real fast to cause hurt): (URL) At a (...) (20 years ago, 28-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !

        Re: MOC: Shuriken —Chappie Adams
(...) Awsome mocs! may personal favorite is the bluish one. I like the look of the yellow one a lot but as you said on your mocpages page, it doesn't look right for a military craft. The black and red look ok, but I do not like the orange and white (...) (20 years ago, 28-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

         Re: MOC: Shuriken —Kyle Vrieze
(...) Thanks! The sand blue one is my favorite, too. I'm experimenting with using black for the guns on the Shuriken and Pinpoint to set them apart as as separate piece of external equipment distinct from the airframe. I added color-keyed accents (...)         Re: MOC: Shuriken —Peter Roberts
(...) Man alive... Those things are so cool! The yellow colour scheme is the best IMHO. Of course, it'd be kinda easy to spot. On the other hand, by the time these come into production, spotting ships of any colour or design will be really easy (...) (20 years ago, 29-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

         Re: MOC: Shuriken —Kyle Vrieze
(...) Thanks for the compliments, Peter, I'm glad you liked these MOCs. You're suggesting a gun mounted just above the cockpit? I may try that, but I wouldn't want the gun to be in line with the exit vector of the dorsal missile launcher, so it (...) (20 years ago, 30-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

        Re: MOC: Shuriken —Jeff Findley
(...) I like the orange and white version. It's very eye catching. (...) For the most part, I like the guns. Perhaps black portion of the guns could be less "blocky". I'm also not too sure about the black technic pin used as the gun barrel, but I'm (...) (20 years ago, 29-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

         Re: MOC: Shuriken —Kyle Vrieze
(...) Cool! Yours is the third response, and the third different favorite color scheme. I agree the guns could look better if they were less blocky. I wanted them to be substantial and not flimsy, but I had trouble doing enough decent shaping at (...) (20 years ago, 30-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

        Re: MOC: Shuriken —Ley Ward
(...) I really like these, and I support your approach of building several; variations on a theme can lead to interesting solutions due to part (in)availabilty. While I like the insectesque(1) quality of the red and yellow ones, I do gravitate (...) (20 years ago, 30-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

         Re: MOC: Shuriken —Kyle Vrieze
(...) The sand blue is my favorite too, and I think in part it is because of the printed pieces, though I didn't realize that until you pointed it out. (...) If I can scrape together the parts, I may try one with either green or sand green, using (...) (20 years ago, 30-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

         Re: MOC: Shuriken —Ley Ward
(...) Yeah, that part wouldn't do anything for the length. I look forward to the new version. (my interest is purely sculptural of course...) (...) Indeed. How they came up with 'creamsicle' for something orange and vanilla flavoured escapes me (...) (20 years ago, 30-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

        Re: MOC: Shuriken —Eric Sophie
(...) Oh wow, sweet. It looks multi-segmented, lots of areas, components and sections. Very cool. Snip contest stuff (...) That is so cool! (...) Hard to say, they all look so cool. I like all of them. When I look at the first example (above) I like (...) (20 years ago, 30-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

         Re: MOC: Shuriken —Kyle Vrieze
(...) Thanks! (...) Yeah, sort of like taking your little bot variety concept and shrinking it waaaaay down so my collection can handle it! snip (...) You know, I had ruled that out because I wouldn't have enough of the "stick" parts to do guns for (...) (20 years ago, 2-Dec-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: MOC: Shuriken —Paul B Hartzog
(...) I know I've been gone for some time, but I saw this and went through your bshelf folder. I like the angles, I like the studless builds, i.e. the smaller items. Keep up the good work! -paul (20 years ago, 3-Dec-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

         Re: MOC: Shuriken —Kyle Vrieze
(...) Thanks, Paul! I really appreciate the compliment, considering how much your stuff has influenced my space MOCs. I hadn't realized the extent of the influence until I browsed your website again just now. I hope you've got more stuff in the (...) (20 years ago, 4-Dec-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

        Re: MOC: Shuriken —Paul Baulch
(...) Very sexy! I think this is my favourite use of that canopy. The way you've integrated it in with the wedge slopes, it's so well done! (...) I love them all! Mmmmm, taste the rainbow of fruit flavours. All you're missing is some shade of green (...) (20 years ago, 8-Dec-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

         Re: MOC: Shuriken —Kyle Vrieze
(...) Thanks, Paul! (...) You're right! Most of my green is tied up in a mech I don't want to disassemble, and a lot of my sand green is in use in another MOC, otherwise I would have tried a green one. (...) I will try the grey, that might work. (...) (20 years ago, 10-Dec-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

        Re: MOC: Shuriken —Keith Goldman
(...) I see sophie has infected you with his Rainbow-warrior approach. they would look great arranged in a Shuriken Dealership of some kind, with low-low 0% financing for qualified buyers. (...) Although the sand-blue model is highly erotic, I favor (...) (20 years ago, 12-Dec-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

        Re: MOC: Shuriken —Kyle Vrieze
(...) With hover gunships, it's not the finance charges that kill ya, it's the insurance. (...) It seems few people like the red one, which happens to be the only one that uses wheels for engines, and where the rounded corners at the nose aren't the (...)
