Inspired by The Matrix and all other Matrix moc builders (Adrian Drake, Jon Palmer, Jamie Neufeld, Bruce Lowell, and others,) I present the Nacon, a heavy gunboat model hovership that’s named after the Mayan god of war.



Because of the amount of images I’ve uploaded for this model, two galleries have been set up for your convenience: Exterior and Interior.

The following images track the progression of this model from rough concept to near-completion:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10

Image 9 shows the first (and so far only) public appearance of the hovership (at Brickfest PDX,) following a rushed night’s work on it to make it presentable. No interior at all, and most of the back end was held on by some SNOT that actually didn’t line up right.

Lastly, thanks to Adrian, Jon, and Bruce for inspiration and answering design questions throughout construction, and also to Gingivere, whoever you are.

(URL) The first thing I thought when I saw it was "death tadpole". That's a really nice piece of work. Hi Ryan, First of all, congrats for such a comprehensive post. As I already told you before, it's a very nice habit you have to take pics of the MOC on its way to become THE MOC! Then having the comments on MOCpages + actually presenting the design (...) (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
