  Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

Early reports are being transmitted to PCS and EB fleet leadership by their respective Intelligence units regarding the newest threat to .space. The Jade Empire is emerging from dark regions of the galaxy in an unprovoked quest for power. Border (...) (20 years ago, 16-Apr-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !

  Re: Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

(...) Deadly. I'm working on a Jade Empire model myself. This ship looks like pure and deadly evil! I think it could use a little more green though. It is the Jade Empire after all. But, as usual, you continue to stun me with your outstanding skill (...) (20 years ago, 16-Apr-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

(...) (URL) was> (2 URLs) a lot more> (URL) green> in the early designs of this fighter, but sometime along the way I elminated the larger green elements. It was quite an evolution. My next moc (URL) (in progress)> for JE will feature more sand (...) (20 years ago, 16-Apr-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

(...) I was going to compliment you on such a cool sand-purple ship...but then I realized it wasn't sand-purple. Judging from the Fett torsos, it appears to be a mix of dark-grey, light-grey, trans-green and (I think) sand-green? I thought maybe it (...) (20 years ago, 16-Apr-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

(...) I was wondering how you were going to design this....it's tough to come up with something alien, but not looking completely crazy like a b'hovaknuka con tiki tiki somethingorother ship. The colours with the dino tails give it just enough to (...) (20 years ago, 16-Apr-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

(...) Thanks for the words, David. I edited the pictures on a mac at school, but now that I've seen them on a couple of different PCs I am dissatisified with the colors. Aside from the washed-out look, I'm proud of my photography this time around. (...) (20 years ago, 16-Apr-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

(...) In the beginning, it was largely based off Lenny's Elefant and Steve's Sinicus, but obviously I needed to take liberties and work on my own style for the theme. The cockpit portion of the ship is vaguely similar to the style of Keith's current (...) (20 years ago, 16-Apr-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

(...) Remember that the Elefant was not designed as an original Jade Empire ship. They buy it from the Eastern Block, so while the color scheme was tailored to their tastes, the physical construction should not be considered representative of the (...)   Re: Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

(...) What kind of stuff did you do when you edited them? Did you adjust any color/lighting properties? A few of them (i, l, m, o, & x) look like the colors are correct. There's just a hint of purplish wash on the right side of pics o & x that (...) (20 years ago, 17-Apr-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

Hey Ryan, this little Jade empire number is pretty sweet. It looks like it was inspired by your cylon-p38, with a little podness thrown in for good measure. The use of the dino-tails was a nice flavor to help set it apart as a JE construct. Upon (...) (20 years ago, 17-Apr-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

(...) Ryan, this thing is amazing. I've been pretty heavy into lurker mode as of late, but I had to give kudos for this one. The flow of the wings matched with the organic nature of the dino tails gives it a great look. Very contrasty and clashy but (...) (20 years ago, 17-Apr-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

(...) Oh, I know Elefant wasn't an original Jade Empire manufacture. Doesn't change the fact that they have some sort of ties to the Eastern Block, and thus might incorporate some design aspects into their ships. My thoughts, anyways. Chris posted (...)   Re: Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

(...) Thanks Keith. If there's any C-38 in this moc, it wasn't intentional. :) But I do sort of see it, especially when looking from the rear. Don't worry about the colors. I'm not! I'll be doing light gray and green sometime, too. They all work (...) (20 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

(...) Good to see you around Chris, and thanks much for the compliments! I plan on incorporating the dino tails into my Jade ships as long as I think they work well in designs (and as long as everyone else thinks they look good!) I got into .space (...)   Re: Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

Excellent work, Ryan Ah, would that such pieces were available in sand-purple... I'm guessing that your Mac at school isn't calibrated, as I'm seeing the same sand-purple and gray on my Mac that others are seeing. This could be a trick of the eye, (...)   Re: Jade Empire: Jiao-zhan Dou

(...) On the basis that China and the U.S.S.R. used a lot of the same equipment, that makes a certain amount of sense, but I'd prefer to see a lot more oriental influence on the design (otherwise it's just swapping red for green). Speaking of which, (...) (20 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
