Well, you see, man, those two strange looking things that are peeping out
the holes in the side, on either side near the rear? Those are Telescope
Laser Cannons, the idea came from the Exploriens theme, but I've developed
it further. They are kinda like a downsized yamato gun. Many space battle
craft carry one main weapon, I'm using two slightly smaller 'main weapons'.
The non-chemical propulsion systems must be shut off in order for it to
work. Because on a ship this size, there are fewer nuclear fusion reaction
chambers, so the main engine share their power with the TLCs.
The TLCs gather energy, most of it from the chambers, some from the
surrounding space, and focus it into a variable, high energy beam. Because
a 'laser' is capable of travelling -long- distances, because it is actually
light, the term telescope is applied. I'm not sure about the scientific
specifics of this so I won't claim to be a science professor.
The two turrets both are twin long barrel rifle-like weapons. Two nuclear
war-heads are also mounted on this two missile, about mid-ship. The
combination of these three long range weapon systems allows the Armageddon
to, hopefully, attack out of the enemys range.
A phalanx cannon is also on the rear. A phalanx(sp?) is a computer driven
'canister' that fires depleted uranium shells at bombers or fighters. These
are fired at such a high rate that it virtually creates an impenatrable(sp?)
wall in front of the would-be-attacker.
I hope I wasn't rambling:) But the TLCs are the bigguns.

| Hey cool! I like the cockpit/bridge. Looks like a design that could fit on almost any ship. One gripe tho, if it's a destroyer, where's the big guns? :-P Looks more like a cruiser or something to me... (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jul-01, to lugnet.space)
