  Curious problem with download

I just got Mindstorm set, and since I do not have a PC, NQC seemed like a great place to start. I tried Mac NQC and did not get very far downloading the RCX firmware. Every attempt resulted in the IR tower not seeing the RCX. I have a G3 blue and (...) (25 years ago, 27-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  RE: Palm and pbForth

(...) Yes, this is very easy to do. I'd have to change the GUI I supply too, but that would not be too bad... (...) It's not pbForth that's the problem, it's the host-side software that I need to update to use the USB tower. (...) The RCX does not (...) (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

  MacNQC, G4 and Keyspan USB to serial adapter

Hi all, As another datapoint in my liberation from the Wintel hegemony. I did indeed get Dave's latest MacNQC working on my new G4/400 using the Keyspan USB to serial adapter. I recommend downloading the latest driver from Keyspan. You can use the (...) (25 years ago, 5-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: Serial to USB Adapters for iMac

(...) "no reply from RCX" is probably not an adapter problem. My first guess would be that the RCX doesn't have firmware loaded (If you see "00.00" on the display, firmware is loaded, if you just see an icon and "1", then it isn't). Second guess (...)   RE: Displaying info while debugging

(...) Mario, I did some checking and I think the real issue is with the USB driver from LEGO. The serial tower does not exhibit this behaviour. It has its own problems, which include falling asleep after 2 seconds of inactivity. So, as far as I can (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

  RIS 1.0 -> 1.5 -> 2.0 upgrade questions

I have a Mindstorms 1.0 set. When the 1.5 upgrade came out, I purchased it. I see that the 2.0 upgrade is out. A couple of quick questions: (1) Is the upgrade just a CD-ROM, or are there any pieces, users' guide, or Constructopedia like there was in (...) (22 years ago, 5-Nov-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

I just installed the software for Vision Command. VC uses the 2.0 firmware. I have not had any problems with the 2.0 firmware on my RCX 1.0 brick (from the RIS 1.5 set). According to Mindstorms tech support the 2.0 firmware is final . The only thing (...) (24 years ago, 23-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
