Thank you for your reply, Fred. We finally solved the problems we had. We can not make the downloader program work with Windows operating system (I have Windows 2000 running on my computer). Hi, I've seen Jan's homepage describing his robot ELMO ((URL) which uses the BiM-418-F module to communicate with the desktop computer. Can I do the same with the expansionboard. I've started building my HandyBoard. And I'm just stuck now! I've gotten to the point where I can boostrap, and the pccode thing loads perfectly. I can do math calculations and all in IC. Hey guys. I've just finished building the Interface/Charger Serial Circuit. In testing, when I shorted pin 6 of the MAX232 to J9-pin7(ground), i get the correct -10V. I have recently begun using the Handyboard with the non-commercial version of IC. My PC runs Windows ME. I was unable to get IC to communicate with the HB until I booted the PC in safe mode. Usually if I charge the board for a while it will go away or sometimes pressing lightly on the LCD screen while turning the board on will help. This may not be a good sign (...) This will probably bounce to the Handyboard list but here goes ... (...) The way the default LCD program is written is non-optimal. Hi Scott, the handyboard part-list says that this LEDs are from the HLMP17xx series. These LEDs are low-current LEDs and only need 2 mA current at (1.8V) 1.9V forward voltage. I believe I've determined the problem. It looks like pilot error. Upon closer inspection of the serial LED, I noticed that it was defintely backwards in comparison to the power LED. Thanks for the info Rainer. I ended up picking up a Logic Probe from Radio Shack as it was only $18. Even if its not top of the line, it should work plenty fine for this job (and more later).
