Good idea, and I should have added that to the list. But a high-thrust LEGO air
propeller or fan seems to be even tougher to make than a water propeller.
There's been a lot of discussion in the past about LEGO hovercraft, but it's
rather hard to get a LEGO construction to move sufficient air.
Also, to be fair to an earlier poster that I didn't follow up on, a true
sailboat has some real potential, but for a first attempt the possibility of
tipping the whole boat just seemed to risky to me. Given the scale of the craft
and the scale of wind gusts, I think you might need a system designed to "drop
sail" very very rapidly. A 10 meter sailboat takes some time to go over, enough
that you could at least pull the pin on the sail, but that doesn't scale down
well - I could easily see a sudden gust take the boat over before an on-board
accelerometer-triggered system could drop the sail.
