Re: Some NXT sites I've run across.

(...) hmm. I do think the design school is very cool. However, I DO NOT agree with the design tip saying beams are easier to align with pins in both sides. I always try to put them on the same beam. But, what do I know? Steve (21 years ago, 1-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Some NXT sites I've run across.

OK, while we're all waiting for word on the MDP (one way or another), I was cruising the web, hoping for news... and found this: (URL) seems there's a number of NXT blogs springing up and linking up, and they've ferreted out some interesting (...) (21 years ago, 1-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Brick Basket

(...) Thanks... I have a few yellow from Cybermaster set, but blue seems very rare (none on Bricklink). Philo (21 years ago, 1-Mar-06, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Brick Basket

(...) They came with the lego dacta rotation sensors. I have also some decent datcta touch sensors which came with a yellow connector. Very neat. I think it's a color scheme, cause the sensor are also blue res. yellow. Carsten (21 years ago, 1-Mar-06, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.robotics)

Re: It's awfully quiet in here

(...) Oops! You're right Philo ;) Sorry. Going in and soldering them was one of my fixes for intermittent battery problems now I come to remember. Which then just leads you to the next problem which is when they unsolder again ....... JB (21 years ago, 28-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Brick Basket

(...) Hello Carsten, Nice documentations of your robots! Your datsville movie are great too... One question: where did you get those blue electric connectors? (URL) (21 years ago, 28-Feb-06, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.robotics)

Re: It's awfully quiet in here

(...) That was exactly it - the rear spring terminal, although it appeared fine, was evidently just barely bent too high by the impact. I removed the circuitboard, pushed both battery clips down slightly, and rebuilt the unit. It works! The power (...) (21 years ago, 28-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: The meaning of "community" (Was: RCX 1.0 Button Cleaning)

(...) Whoops! next time I'll first read all threads before answering about already solved problems ;o) Philo (21 years ago, 28-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: It's awfully quiet in here

(...) Bob Fay wrote a tutorial about that: (URL) probably the springs blades that make connection from batteries to RCX board are bent (See photo 4 of Bob tutorial). Though these blades are not normally soldered to the board (despite John's post (...) (21 years ago, 28-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: It's awfully quiet in here

(...) Oh wow. I know I've pretty given up much hope though I haven't gotten any email either way (I figure todays the day for the "bummer" emails). From your last post Steve, it seemed that the 100 have already been chosen. Perhaps not? -aps (21 years ago, 28-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)

The meaning of "community" (Was: RCX 1.0 Button Cleaning)

Earlier today, I commented on LUGNET about how I had broken my 1.0 RCX by dropping it at an event this weekend. I got my first email response within a few minutes of posting, and with the kind words of advice and cautions, the RCX now sits beside (...) (21 years ago, 27-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: It's awfully quiet in here

(...) Mike, Like Brian, I've been out of town. I typically post most often in technic, but I read robotics and have been posting here since being invited to be a MUP 2.   RCX 1.0 Button Cleaning ...??

Hi Folks, I need help from someone who has dissembled an RCX. I have looked at the assembly pictures (elsewhere) but they're no help. My 'On-Off' button is flaky. My first thought was to remove the batteries, then the 4 phillips-head screws and (...) (21 years ago, 27-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: It's awfully quiet in here

(...) Brian, the battery clips are soldered onto the RCX's main board. A good solid jolt might have managed to unsolder one of them, or crack the corner of the board. JB (21 years ago, 27-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: It's awfully quiet in here

(...) Well, I'm mostly quiet because I'm just coming back from a set of robot games in Northern Indiana, where I was only able to enter two robots... and one of them didn't run at all due to a dead (& I mean DEAD) RCX. So anybody want to help out (...) (21 years ago, 27-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: It's awfully quiet in here

(...) At this point, I'm not sure if the process of getting people signed up is complete. (I don't even know if everyone has been contacted) However, I'm pretty sure you won't hear much about what the lucky 100 are doing for a couple months. Steve (21 years ago, 27-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)
