A number of cars have done this in the past, though not many were
brought to the US. Amusingly enough, a little-known option on the 240SX
(I forget which years) is the HICAS (HIgh CApacity Steering) system
which is a 4WS option. The rear of the car will steer opposite to the
front at low speeds for U-turns, and with the rear at high speeds, for
quick lane changing. This is only helpful on highways, however, for once
you get into autocross racing (or similar) you rapidly discover that the
car behaves better through turns if the rear wheels are fixed.
