I have one of each RCX (1.0, 1.5 , 2.0) and have tested the signals using a palm app called IRMonitor with little or no difference between the three. This is by no means a "labratory test". Haveyou noticed this with more than one brick? For the (...) (23 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Their last call states that they are heavy on Mindstorms but the Brickwest website, last updated in October?, seems to only indicate several talks on RoboLab. These are exellent ideas, I was originally trying to support 20+ teams like a tournament. only a few (eight is plenty)cars would be on the track at one time. Now I realize that would be better handeled by a database. I like the idea of the vision (...) (23 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics)

I'm running Red Hat Linux 8.0 (gcc 3.2 and binutils 2.13). Whe I try to compile the demos that come with brickOS 0.2.6.09, using binutils 2.12.91 for the cross-linker and gcc 3.2.1 as cross-compiler, the linker crashes. Here is the output of the (...) After some intense fiddeling around I have created a couple working vehicles or autonimous racers based on the discussions a previous post. The major differences between RIS 1.5 and 2.0 are the RIS software and the IR Tower. The software upgrade from RIS 1.5 to 2.0 is $19.99 (#3805) from LEGO's website. Currently debating in my head whether of these versions is the best to buy. I've checked the inventory with Peeron, all RIS kits appear more or less identical in their supply of parts. Only a suggestion, In any processor architecture (with or without disabling or recursive interrupts) when I need to read timers with more than 1 single instruction I do the following: Read the timer (both low and high value) until I get 2 times the (...) Hi Tobbe, My guess is that your friend actually got one 43362 and one 71427, the latter beeing enclosed in a 43362 case. If you look at 43362 enclosure photo ((URL) you see that there are 4 plastic pins in corners that are used to secure 71427 core (...) (23 years ago, 15-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

From watching the son of whyachi and looking at the specs page i think: 1. the concept that you are looking at is different from the actual locomotion of SOW 2. it isn't going ot be easy to reproduce this in Lego 3. The problem with that is you'd have to put the mechanisms together by putting axles over the first setup, which begins looking ugly. This is how I achieved the first walking part: 1.
