  Legousbtower configuration 4.

Dear Juergen, As a response to the question on your webpage, I've tried configuration 4 of the legusbtower (legusbtower + uhci + nqc). I had no issues in using my setup to download the firmware to the brick. The response from the RCX brick sometimes (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: wireless RF RCX communication?

There are devices sold by Radio Shack/Future Shop/etc called (i think) "remote extenders". Basically, they have 2 pieces. 1 is an infrared receiver and radio transmitter, and the other is a radio reciever and ir transmitter. I think they are one-way (...)   Re: Cygwin problems

Ben I recommend you read the Howto from the sourceforge docs section, or even better buy the Extreme Mindstorms book (Extreme Mindstorms; D. Baum, M. Gasperi, R. Hempel, L. Villa; Apress; ISBN: 1893115844 ) . Both give a good explanation of legOS. (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Hi all, i am having problems with cygwin. It doesnt help that i dont know what all these linux commands mean but i will explain my problems now.   Cybermaster CD

(...) Lego were not able to find me an english Cybermaster CD, so my Cybermaster is sitting there unused as I can't figure out how to use the german software. Is anyone on this group willing to lend me a CD-R of an english CD? I would reimburse you (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  SDK 2.0

Hi everybody. Does anyone downloaded the new SDK 2.0 for RIS2.0? When i try to download the zip file, everything seems to work, but when i launch the EXE inside i get an error message "Corrupt Cabinet file" The download address is: (URL) in advance. (...)   Re: Help! Hanyboard Assembly Testing problem!---I think solved!

There was a very undetcible component-side solder bridge between pins 2 and 3 of RP4. I might not know until tomorrow when I can get a replacement for RP4 (apparently I'm not very good at desoldering, and I didn't see the bridge at all until I (...)   Re: threads

Thanks Albert (...) still (...) How do I check this? There are no other tasks that can kill threads apart from this one. I also checked process IDs after creation and before killing. Best regards, mike (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: I'm sure this has been done to death

Best source is other Mindstorms Sets - preferrably heavily discounted. Older RIS sets have gone in chain stores for as low as $69. Expansion sets are available through a range of places online as closeouts at varying discounts. CompUSA and BestBuy (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Help! Hanyboard Assembly Testing problem!

Hi, Thanks for your reply. RP4 has the part # 88102G, and adjacent pairs of pins have resistance of 1k (ie, 4 discrete resistors). Ok, Tell me if this sounds really strange... R15 is installed, but tested at about 1k ohms, not 47k. I remove the (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

LNP routing daemon for Cybermaster/NQC and RCX/legOS

Dear NG, i try to develop a LNP routing daemon (LNPoI - Lego Network Protocol over Internet)and i think this peace of software can be also usefull to other people using legOS, RCX and Cybermasters. For now it´s only available as a binarie file for (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

Re: I'm sure this has been done to death

Yeah the Camera really needs the CDROM and therefore Windows. :( But the Exploration Mars (which was one of (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: I'm sure this has been done to death

(...) The AT-AT was OK (apart from the 'microscout' heap of junk). (...) What upset me about those was that a large fraction of the benefit of them was in the CD-ROM - which being a Linux user, I have no use for. (...) Yes - that was one *sweet* (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: newbie again part 2

(...) You could try David Baum's (creator of NQC) simulator, found here: (URL) is 'very alpha', meaning that it's in its early stages of development and uses Java, so be ready to ask more questions :) Good luck and hope you get your RCX soon!   Re: I'm sure this has been done to death

(...) Yes - any Lego set will work with Mindstorms - but some are *much* better than others. The 'Bionicles' for example are just junk...almost useless. On the other hand, the StarWars sets are pretty good for robot parts. Truly the best deal is (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: wireless RF RCX communication?

(...) This sounds complicated. I'm not sure if I'd want to go hacking into the RCX, but if you have an idea and a good idea of how to make it work, more power to you. I'd just like to point out before you get started that the infrared communication (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  newbie again part 2

Another doubt: When I'm programming with NQC, is there a way to run the program (simulate its behavior actualy) without the RCX (because I don't have it yet)?   Re: My Ambulators
