Hi all, i am having problems with cygwin.
It doesnt help that i dont know what all these linux commands mean but i
will explain my problems now.
I have intstalled all the software to my system ok and the linux emulator
seems to work fine(i can use tar and other commands like mkdir), at the end
of the installation instructions it says i can test it using the following
lines,
$ cd /legOS
$ make realclean
$ make depend
$ make
$ cd util
$ make strip
Now, Power on RCX.
Put IR tower on COM1
$ ./firmdl3 ../boot/legos.srec
$ ./dll ../demo/helloworld.lx
Ok i tried that it is having none of it.
Everything seems to work ok until here:
$ ./firmdl3 ../boot/legos.srec
(What does this actually do?)
Then i get a different problem each time i try it:
$ ./firmdl3 ../boot/legos.srec
-----------------------------------
Transferring "Fast Download Image" to RCX...100%./firmdl3: delete firmware
failed
-----------------------------------
Transferring "Fast Download Image" to RCX...100%./firmdl3: start firmware
download failed
-----------------------------------
I assumed that because this line did not work the next would not wither, i
was right.
On a final note, can you tell me if i need to do the top 6 lines each time i
use the program or just once?
Thanks, Ben Crinion

| Ben I recommend you read the Howto from the sourceforge docs section, or even better buy the Extreme Mindstorms book (Extreme Mindstorms; D. Baum, M. Gasperi, R. Hempel, L. Villa; Apress; ISBN: 1893115844 ) . Both give a good explanation of legOS. (...) (23 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)
