Re: Flex Cables (was: Does anyone has the 8479 bar code truck?

(...) Hey. I just realized. I bought the Indy Storm when it first came out and it DOES have a small set (for the steering). See what happens when you get the big blue Tow Truck and a Zepplin the day after you build it. It's been sitting in a box (...) (26 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Flex Cables (was: Does anyone has the 8479 bar code truck?

(...) The reason I speculated that it may have been a legal issue is that several years ago the flex pack was advertised as available from S@H. For some reason they pulled it from US distribution but kept it in Europe. The flex pack has several (...) (26 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: (no subject)

(...) I'm glad that worked Ralph. I still haven't done the mod to my version of your compressor yet. Just finished a three day hobby show... LEGO was a huge success with the 8 to 10,000 attendees! Back to my own building. <ICS> (26 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Error at address 0x0000

Hello, i have the same problem with the Error at address 0x0000. First i checked the hardware (Ram,Latch...) but i cant't find a bug.   LEGO Reverse DNS?

Hi all... Just a quick question for those of you whose ISPs give you a reverse lookup of the DNS from which your websites have been hit. 1. What is the domain name that TLG shows up as when your site is hit by them? Cheers, Ralph Hempel - P.Eng (...) (26 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Upcoming _Star Wars_ Mindstorms and Technics Releases

(...) Thanks for the post although I have a hard time believing some of this. I just can't see 4 Mindstorms sets (Just for Star Wars no less). Just seems like overkill to me and doubt that there would be that many. As far as the rest it seems (...) (26 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.starwars, lugnet.technic)

Re: Upcoming _Star Wars_ Mindstorms and Technics Releases

Well, I just thought I'd pass this along--too soon to vouch for its authenticity, but you may be right about there being too many MindStorms sets to be true. I have seen a scan of a Y2K Lego cover that includes more SW figures and does indeed (...) (26 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: LEGO Reverse DNS?

Well, Ralph, I'm not really sure- I've served 12967 pages of the HOWTO as of today, so there are a lot of logs to go through. However, I can say with certainty that it is not lego.com, as there are no records of any hits on my site from there. I can (...) (26 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Upcoming _Star Wars_ Mindstorms and Technics Releases

(...) Actually, since I'd assume the Mindstorms sets are lagging in popularity (things like that always have an initial spike and then a downward trend in sales) a variety of SW Mindstorms add-on sets would be just the thing for TLG to boost sales, (...)   Re: Upcoming _Star Wars_ Mindstorms and Technics Releases

(...) Yeah, having 4 mindstorms kits and two technic sets sounds a bit much! (not that I'd complain if it's true!) Maybe it's just 1 or 2 more mindstorms kits that have multiple models? That'd be kinda like the one that features R2D2 and the battle (...) (26 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.starwars, lugnet.technic)

  RE: LEGO Reverse DNS?

(...) Maybe TLG doesn't care about NQC :-) that's why they don't show up as lego.com...ha ha ha. Seriously, that's what got me curious too. Think about it. Here's a group of folks they can get design ideas from, and yet NOBODY I know of has ever had (...) (26 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: LEGO Reverse DNS?

I've kept every http log file since the dawn of time (1994) but most don't have reverse lookups. I've never been tempted to do reverse lookups on the LEGO related pages. I have on some other sites I run for personal amusement. I have never access (...) (26 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: LEGO Reverse DNS?

(...) It might just be company policy that the internet is not used for web browsing at work. Some places do that. You might want to expand your search to domains that point to key geographical regions which may indicate employee usage. For that (...) (26 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: LEGO Reverse DNS?

(...) Hmmm...companies like that might want to get a clue. The web is a great way to figure out what the competition is doing, or if anyone who you don't even know is competing with you is going to swamp your company with a cool new product... Check (...)   [OFFTOPIC] Re: LEGO Reverse DNS?

In re: DNS and public disclosure: Sorry to take this OT, but I just have to throw in my two cents. There is a big difference between getting personal data (cookies, required logins, etc.) and checking out what domain someone has dl'd from. The (...)   Re: LEGO Reverse DNS?

Once, after doing too many nights of research at the Lego web site, I used that domain as an example in a System admin class I was teaching. I showed the folks in the class how to setup a secondary DNS and just for fun (and since I'd been so (...) (26 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)
