It was just the envy speaking.....
I have no prospects for fast net service anytime soon. Heck, my phone
lines even fail the USR line-noise test, so I haven't even bothered
trying a 56K modem. I am sorta out in the sticks here, so no cable
modems available either. Not sure about ISDN, but that is expensive,
I hear. I could probably get that wireless speedchoice thing, but it
is not cheap either.
So, how about this: Go download something big, like LucasArts demo of
Grim Fandango. It is like a 70mb download with all the bells and
whistles. Tell me how quick it came through. That way, I can live
vicariously through you. :-)

| (...) Hrmmm.... a quick estimate would be... 70 megs in about 50 minutes or so? Not good with the math. I probably have 150 megs to download tonight, but it's all smaller files and backups. I'll have to time it for you. :) (26 years ago, 9-Jan-99, to lugnet.publish)
