        Re: Somebody help. —Jodi Neal
OK Ryan, and the rest of you guys, ;-) Don't worry Ryan your response to me did not upset me. But let's see, South Park was a choice for you to want to see. I must be missing something in that movie. Plus, wasn't it like NC17 or R rated? And now on (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

        Re: Somebody help. —Mike Stanley
(...) Yeah, that's a pretty harsh movie. I found parts of it hillariously funny, but I doubt any set of parents would approve of their daughter being taken to see it. (...) I guess it just depends on the situation, the people, etc. By the time I was (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

        Re: Somebody help. —Ryan Smith
[SNIP] She just turned 17 today. Surprised me when I over heard it. -14 3 year differnce(Sort of.) I over heard this also: Her date was canceled the DAY before HOMECOMING and I'm wondering why. (That's one thing I would NEVER do.) I feel sorry for (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

What is Homecoming? (Re: Somebody help.) —Jeremy Sproat
(...) Okay, y'all gotta help me on this one. I came to the States after graduation, and my high school didn't have this...thing. "Homecoming" baffles me. It's so much a part of the local culture everywhere I go, and it gets everyone all hot and (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

Re: What is Homecoming? (Re: Somebody help.) —Mike Stanley
(...) Hrmmm... not sure about the coming home part but in my experience the games scheduled for homecoming are normally sure-things. You'll never see UTK playing Florida on homecoming. (...) Hrmmm... tuxes? We never wore tuxes to homecoming. Prom (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

Re: What is Homecoming? (Re: Somebody help.) —Jeremy Sproat
(...) (!) Okay, this is going to sound dumb, so I'll let you reply after you've picked youself up from the ground, still convulsing from crippling bouts of laughter... So Homecoming, then, is also a college thing? (...) I hear you. :-, Cheers, - (...) (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

Re: What is Homecoming? (Re: Somebody help.) —Mike Stanley
(...) Well, there is a homecoming GAME. And usually some sort of parade? I honestly can't confirm this, since I won't be caught dead near campus on a game day, but I know there are all these stupid float things all up and down frat row the next week (...)            Re: What is Homecoming? (Re: Somebody help.) —Ryan Smith
(...) Sure is, but I don'think it is as big as it is in High School Speaking of a sure win situation, this was funny on friday. The team that we were playing on their first punt, punted it for a NEGATIVE 3 yards, Don't tell me that's not funny! (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

Re: What is Homecoming? (Re: Somebody help.) —David Eaton
(...) Yep. The odd thing I think is that my high school didn't do anything for homecoming, other than the homecoming game. There was a game every year, and we actually had a pep rally 1 year... but the profound lack of school spirit made it (...) (25 years ago, 5-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

Re: What is Homecoming? (Re: Somebody help.) —Larry Pieniazek
Homecoming is, I think, supposedly for the Alumni! It's supposedly the alumni who come back (come home) to their alma mater and watch the team trounce some hapless opponent and reminisce about good times. At Da Tech homecoming was a Big Deal. It was (...) (25 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

Re: What is Homecoming? (Re: Somebody help.) —Steve Bliss
(...) Did Tech ever win a homecoming game? Note to onlookers: Michigan Technological University is (well, was) not well-endowed when it came to football. At the time I was there (mid-80's) we didn't have a football stadium, just a gridiron with a (...) (25 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

UTK playing Florida on homecoming. (...) Is that supposed to be U.K.? I've never heard of UTK (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

Re: What is Homecoming? (Re: Somebody help.) —Mike Stanley
(...) Maybe that isn't the common abbreviation when it comes to college football. University of Tennessee (at Knoxville). Home of the defending national football champions. Yay. (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

Re: What is Homecoming? (Re: Somebody help.) —Ryan Smith
(...) BOOO. Florida State should of won! My birth place. (25 years ago, 4-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

Re: What is Homecoming? (Re: Somebody help.) —Steve Bliss
(...) My understanding is that "Homecoming" was supposed to be for alumni to come back and visit. If that was the case at one point, it hasn't been true for a long time. Especially high school. Parade, Game, Dance. Those are the essential elements (...) (25 years ago, 5-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)

\NC17 or R rated? (...) Yeah, I had to go see it with my dad(He thought it was funny to). I can't wait til I'm 17 to go see R rated movies(but with my luck the gov't. will probably change it to 21:( It was funny to, we finaly got to see Kenny's face (...)    (...) <snip> An interesting thing to note here is that most libraries will check out an r-rated movie to anyone with a library card, regardless of age. -- Thomas Main main@appstate.edu (URL) (25 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.people)
