Re: "Was it worth it to you?" was Re: Cost of Brickfest

(...) When I tried to turn down the cash Stephen offered me for a 6204 and several 1747s, he mentioned something about the money coming from WAMALUG, but I may have misunderstood something. I'm glad to hear that most of the prizes were donated by (...) (26 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.us.wamalug)

(...) Actually it was a 24 hour place for the stuff, just not the people. That was a huge advantage. There are very few places that will give you a space to occupy 24hrs without spending huge $$$. Most (all) hotel conference rooms are scheduled by (...) (26 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.us.wamalug)

Re: "Was it worth it to you?" was Re: Cost of Brickfest

(...) Where did you hear that? Most of the prizes were donated by the LEGO Outlet Store at Potomac Mills. A few were donated by Denise. Even the T-shirts were advanced out of pocket by Denise. WAMALUG doesn't have that much money. KL (26 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.us.wamalug)

(...) I saved every picture from both webcams on the server. That's 2 pictures every 10 seconds. That's about 19,000 images (but only 287MB). I'm still not sure what I'll do with them, but I do have them. KL (26 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.us.wamalug)

  Re: its over!!!

I think I would vote for a week earlier or later in June also, as June 15 is my NLS's birthday. Birthdays are rather big events in her family, and I doubt that I'd be able to go to Brickfest without dire 'reaper'-cussions. :-) -Andy Lynch ----- (...) Hi Frank, Just wanted to let you know that my NLS, Jackie and I were the couple that played Colin and Wanda's ship for the first part of the pirate game.   Brickfest BrikWars

I heard that you guys were going to try and run BrikWars games at the Brickfest, but I haven't seen any mention of them in the postmortems - I take it they weren't a big hit? I was interested to see how (or if) the game worked out, since as far as I (...) (26 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.us.wamalug, lugnet.gaming)

Re: "Was it worth it to you?" was Re: Cost of Brickfest

The money I spent for Brickfest was definitely worth it. I didn't spend too much since I drove down from Baltimore every day, but I guess $60 for gas, tolls, and food, not counting $100 or so spent on 2 T-shirts and LEGO purchases. I wouldn't mind (...)   Re: Cost of Brickfest

(...) I think so. When I was deciding to go, I sort of spread the cost of Brickfest across savings I had made earlier in the year, such as Mindfest (which I went to free on frequent flier tickets) and prom (~$120 paid by my mom (for tux & entrance). (...) Same here. I had $60 worth of SW sets waiting for me at the fest (thanks, Jeff!!), which was actually more like $240 worth... :-) So I restrained myself to a 70 bucks buy at the Store. I would've gotten more if my wallet hadn't been (...) (26 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.org.us.wamalug)
