Re: Building organisation methods —Robin Sather
(...) In the interest of expediency, I think perhaps we should just continue in the simplest manner possible, which probably means doling out baseplates to fill, or something similar. Hopefully we can do some fine tuning when we actually have (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Proposed building areas - land grab time!! —Kevin Wilson
(...) I think baseplate chunks doled out to each person is the best compromise. Fill your chunk with appropriate buildings and we'll slot it in. OK, who wants which building chunks?       (...) Good. the cross and T plates are the most useful because none of us have a lot of them. Stick your name on the back and bring 'em along. (...) Keeerect (...) Good question.           Re: Proposed building areas - land grab time!! —Bryan Wong
(...) I've written to Robin privately, asking where he lives. Hopefully he can lend me a few pieces of track so I can see how to fit them in (I've never seen a piece of track in person!). Also, how will I know WHERE to put the track? (i.e. top of (...) (24 years ago, 30-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Re: Proposed building areas - land grab time!! —Kevin Wilson
(...) The layout pictures are pretty accurate as to where the track goes. But if you make your ledge for the track, a couple studs wider then the actual track, then we'll have some wiggle room. I'm having the same interesting time with the double (...) (24 years ago, 30-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Re: Proposed building areas - land grab time!! —Bryan Wong
(...) Yes you're right - I just downloaded the latest jpg of the layout. I will start building on Monday! (This is gonna be fun...) (...)       (...) By the time it gets to your mountain, the monorail track has jumped up another level and is at 22 bricks above ground level.         Re: Proposed building areas - land grab time!! —Kevin Wilson
I uploaded a NEW TRACK PLAN (v-D0017K.) (HEHE, SAID NO MORE ROAD OR TRACK CHANGES [oops caps lock] didn't I, never mind) wth Robin's suggestion of the road disappearing into a tunnel in the mountain side under the monorail. Supplies more building (...) (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Re: Proposed building areas - land grab time!! —Robin Sather
In the interest of keeping all this building organized, and in my hopes of completely covering the entire layout with baseplates instead of resorting to cloth covering, I've tried to organize a building layout file in similar fashion to our train (...)         Re: Proposed building areas - land grab time!! —Robin Sather
I've grabbed some of the water baseplate spaces, including the island in the middle (#32). I'm going to build a lighthouse, with revolving light (micromotor), attached keeper's house, small dock, perhaps a seagull or two. I'll also build a boat with (...)         Re: Proposed building areas - land grab time!! —Robin Sather
One (minor) change I'd suggest we make to the layout. The mountain will be along plates 69, 83, and 97. Some of it can even extend to 96, I would hope. My thought was to use the rest of 96, and perhaps some of 68 as an "outdoor" area, with trees, a (...) (24 years ago, 31-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

Re: Proposed building areas - land grab time!! —Bryan Wong
(...) That sounds good to me...I'm nuts about streams & waterfalls all of a sudden (especially since it rained like crazy). If there are no strong objections, I'll see what I can do to add some flavour to the scenery. As for changing baseplates (at (...) (24 years ago, 31-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)

(...) No, I can do some building there as well (Work can wait! ... :-). I'll take a better look at it tomorrow and give you a better report of what I think we could do there.      Sorry Bryan. I said I'd post some more ideas today for the "Outdoor" area, but I just didn't allocate my time too wisely today. I'll post something ASAP. Robin (24 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc)
