  Train 3 Height and Width

This question is posed to Derek and Iain: will both of your trains and wagons fit through this area (its 15 blocks and 1 plate in at the highest point.... (URL) have created a train station (the dark grey region in this image (URL) ) and one of the (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Train 3 Height and Width

I'm good with that. The roof beams in my train station are exactly 15 blocks from baseplate to bottom of the beam. So if there is a problem with your construction there will be a problem with mine. I think my highest car is just under 14 blocks (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Train 3 Height and Width

(...) :) I was thinking of that just last night..... I think I will need to do some module stacking (RTL 11???). Calum, did you use 1 x 2 peices of plywood to stack your modules? What am I going to do when I want to build more modules... (because I (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Train 3 Height and Width

(...) Well, I for one really like the videos, and i don't think theyd be complete without the POV footage (but I haven't attended a train event yet, so what do I know).   Re: Train 3 Height and Width

(...) 2x2, I think. I think Chris helped me chop them down to 24 inches each (eight feet). I drilled in three holes in each, making the spacing about 21-22 inches between each module. I bolted them in an offset fashion (one on each side on the (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Train 3 Height and Width

(...) Here's what I did: I have stacked 3 modules. The North and South face of the stack has two vertical 1x2s bolted to each module, and a diagonal brace bolted to the top and bottom module, making an "N" shape on the north and south face. This (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Train 3 Height and Width

(...) When we did GR GATS we had seven vehicles (a pickup, two SUVs and 4 cars) worth of stuff, and that didn't include the crappy tables that GATS supplies. On Friday, we drove right out onto the show floor and unloaded vehicles, then drove out (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.org.us.michlug)

Re: Train 3 Height and Width

Most people don't build over top of the track that much anyways-at least not in train2-train3 will probably be different. But I don't bother with (...)   Re: Train 3 Height and Width

Re: Train 3 Height and Width
