Tomorrow night I’ll finish up the proximity detection (using a light on the back/light sensor on the front). When they get near each other they’ll initiate the decel sequence. I ran the test shuttle in a little sequence where it’d run up against the decel/stop targets, back up, and repeat - to see how accurate it would be stopping. It’s incredibly accurate, within a millimetre. I’m amazed at the control you can get over the train motors, I thought they’d be a huge headache.

It should look pretty interesting with 3 shuttles going around. If I make any decent progress, I’ll upload a video clip!

Calum and I talked tonight a lot about how the whole project might fall together, I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. But we do have a lot of work up-front to do, to figure out the sequence of things, a common fixture design, etc.
