Continuing along with that thought, how cool would this be? If I remember
right, you showed me that the new train wheels have a technic axle hole in them.
If we could get enough of those wheels (Bricklink, maybe?), then we wouldnt
have to use the train motor, and could use the conventional 9V gearmotors (maybe
8t to 24t crown would be just the right reduction).
Im getting a stopping accuracy of about +/- 0.1 dots by pulsing the motor on
the ramp-down, which I think is close enough. If we do something like Robs
suggested (cone and plug), that should be sufficent for any brick-on-brick
pressing. I also agree about the possibility of each vendor (!) doing their own
method of locating the pallet or whatever. We can each make up little fake
company names and pretend were all contract companies and rtlToronto is the
system integrator. ;)
