Then the question gets asked--how does the 'bot know when it's near the side
edge if no part of the 'bot is allowed to be over the edge of the table at any
time?

I like the idea of having both 'bots competing on the same table--if the 'bot
must fit within a certain size, both 'bots should fit on the table with plenty
of room.  It'd make the competitions more fun and exciting, imho...

But I leave it to the group.
