  Unusual sets: 8376/4400 in Canada

The 8376 RC Racer Radio Shack Exclusive is in Canadian Radio Shacks for $119.00. It looks like it has many of the key RC components of the 8375 for about 33% cheaper. The 4589 Nitro Flash (The IR racer) is $38 at Walmart. The receiver/motor/steering (...) (21 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Hobby Show Approaches (was:Re: train6 Layout request)

(...) I’m not sure (Chris, correct me if I’m wrong), but, I thought I heard Calum, Jeff, Derek and Dave discussing trains in general and finally coming to the realization that continued involvement in that area was just silly. I’m pretty sure that (...) (21 years ago, 18-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Hobby Show Approaches (was:Re: train6 Layout request)

(...) Remember, I was a nice guy, until I took good advice from Chris. :) (...) Not to sound like a pain in the butt... but, I do need to hear from the last of you (you know who you are) that haven't confirmed your participation in the show. If you (...)   Re: final rules.

(...) Couldn't you achieve the same end result by using just one sensor port? And signal EoT by changing the port from Passive to Active and back? (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: final rules.

(...) Do the control labs have 2 inputs and 2 outputs? Can you just hook one in & out together, and say that is the signal line for one robot? (then do the same for the other?) Then, when one signal is received, the control lab sends out a signal on (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: final rules.

(...) Your point here is valid. We do need to experiment with the signaling wiring and procedure. Potentially we could say any press and releases in a 2 second period count as one. Your turn is automatically 2 seconds long. It's tricky we need to (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: final rules.

(...) You may be surprised how easily this could happen. The simple act of pressing the button, and holding it, could cause more than one "signal" to be sent. In mechanical switches, you can get some "bounce" when opening or closing the it. Like (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: final rules.

(...) You just have to signal the first robot to start. Possibly through hitting run, or whatever method you choose. It then signals the completion of its first move. This starts the clocks. There is no advantage to sitting around contemplating an (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: final rules.

(...) If it's decided that the arbitrator does not automaticly signal, then a touch sensor could be added to the signal line, which starts the match. Then, the lucky person going first, doesn't also get 1 free turn. But, actually, I think it could (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: final rules.

(...) When I wrote it, I had to look that up, just to make sure I misspeled it correctly... :) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  RE: final rules.

(...) man, it's QUIET here.... (...) You already did. And you even misspelled mispell...sheesh (...) The first robot should not make ITS first move.... The possessive form of it is its, not it's. This is probably the most common grammatical/spelling (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: final rules.

(...) This is problematic. It forces the arbitrator to have to signal as well as listen. I think the arbitor should just start it's clocks when the first robot signals. So because red goes first timing will start when the red player signals it has (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: final rules.

man, it's quite here, today. What are you people doing, working? I know Calum doesn't want my input in the rules, but that's really not going to stop me. Just so he doesn't get too mad, I'll try not to mispell any words... While sitting here at (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: final rules.

(...) bla bla... (...) ... (...) Has the rules page been updated to reflect these new diagrams and standards? There are those of us who live in another country, and can not attend the monthly dinners, so we don't really know what's going on with (...) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Looking 4 Castle Accessories!

Hi y'all, I was hoping you could help me. I'm looking for: 15 black Bat Lord helmets (minifig helmet with bat wings) (URL) to pay no more than 50 cents each) & 4 white horses (no more than $1.00 a piece) Even if you don’t have these quantities, I'd (...)   Re: Honda Element Commercial Link

  Re: C4: *yawn*

(...) Nice rant. If all that came of my post was bugging Chris some more then it was worth it :) (...) Yes, yes I did. So C4 is all my fault. But lets be honest, 3D piperacers with intersections would have been an almost impossible mechanical (...) (21 years ago, 16-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: C4: *yawn*

(...) hmm. Lets think about this for a minute. Is it reasonable to assume at least eight robots will show up? I think so. Given what Bruce said:"I think we can all build a fairly decent robot which can scan a 7x6 board and then drop a checker in one (...) (21 years ago, 16-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
