  Re: rtl12 Game Proposal

(...) Because this Game in a "no Brainer" it would be possible to to just set up your vending machine and then walk away and look at other robots. So that we can have a more social event. The machine would be allowed to dispense ANYTHING you can (...) (22 years ago, 8-May-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto11 Event Rules Posted

we don't have to go to the three table idea if we (and i think I have) decide to start robots in the lower right side of your table. I'm just confused as to how to "score" against neither robot getting the flag. OR one cross but no flag, or....... (...) (22 years ago, 8-May-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Sumo-Train Competition

(...) This sounds absolutely hilarious. One suggestion I would have might be to have two crossovers so each competitor spent 1/2 of its time on the inside of the "oval" and 1/2 on the outside. My suspicion is that the crane boom swinging packs a lot (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.trains)

(...) It was originally on carpet from three feet, IIRC. (...) You know, I like it too. Anyone seriously objecting to having three tables as Trevyn proposes? (...) Anyone up for overclocking your RCX? :) Calum (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto11 Event Rules Posted

Ok... I like the single RCX rule. (Although, I think if some builders want to use two RCX's, then let them. Its so much extra weight to carry around I think it would be a huge disadvantage.) I like the fact that the gap is not smaller than the (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  sticker fun....

Hi, I was having fun last night designing a "sticker sheet" for a project I am in the middle of. Its a milk processing plant and store. I used a clear adhesive sheet to print it out using a Lexmark Z42. I am calling it the Swiss Milk Company Plant (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.fun, lugnet.town, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

You could build a water cooling system for it, thats what I did. It's much quieter too. And, you could use one of those BIG water pumps from Active Surplus (I had to use a reject pond pump). (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Sumo-Train Competition

I was thinking this morning how cool it would be to have this kind of competition. Imagine this: RCX controlled train...3 cars, first car would have the train motor (train engine car), second car would have the RCX (coal car), and the third car (...) (...) 3 feet and not break??? I mean I build these great 'bots that'll put up with alot, but 3 feet? if it fell straight down that's one thing, but if it turned over in the air, or hit on a corner, there'll be Runamok 'bot pieces *everywhere* (...) (...) Shhh, can't talk...... Over Clocking my already fast SUPER COMPUTER(tm) now, I just need to up the core voltage to 1.775 Vdc, and find some Dry ice.... -- Chris Pretend this says something funny (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto11 Event Rules Posted

(...) Okay, so I just got off the phone with Chris about this-what if we scratch the any starting position and make it that everyone has to start in the bottom right corner of their island (ie, an 18 inch corner) (...) Yeah, that's something I don't (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto11 Event Rules Posted

Well, I'm bringing a Therm-A-Rest(tm) mattress this time. :P Maybe we could do three tables, and one flag on the middle table, with the robots starting on the other two? (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto11 Event Rules Posted

(...) So I can start the bot anywhere on my island, right? I think the potential issue would be if player A want to position his bot to block the bridge of the other bot, and player B does not want that. We are stuck if they can't agree. The game (...) (...) It's not impossible. One source of inspiration might be the Bridge Builders episode of Junkyard Wars: (URL) could be an unfolding device like a modern bridgelayer tank, or possibly just a platform with small lips that flip out and get you the (...)   Re: rtlToronto11 Event Rules Posted

Does anyone have any ideas for robots that fit these guidelines? I had and idea for the 8 inch gap, 12 inch bot, and so did someone else I know, but I cant think of anything for these rules that doesnt require more than one RCX. Maybe I just need (...)   Re: An Unique Christmas Gift

(...) Having been in a "resource action" in January with IBM, I can emphasize with this. I didn't do much of anything for the first week. I do reccomend if you have any fun activities (LEGO or otherwise) coming up that you make it a priority to (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  A cool site...

This site just came up on Slashdot, so it might be blown away by the time you get to visit it, but it's really quite cool: (URL) a RIM pager test rig on there that's kinda funny. And a great use for a flatbed scanner: Turn it into a digital camera: (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  An Unique Christmas Gift

Hey folks, So I was packing up my cubicle the other day and down came the various items of Lego. First went the Supercar II, the 8466 4x4, the Miami Beach Patrol, the Search Sub. Then went the Nortel logo, the Lego M1 PBX models. The customized Lego (...) (22 years ago, 5-May-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
