  Lego Racers at CN Tower?

I noticed this in the paper today: (URL) Lego Racers at the CN Tower. Did anyone remember the Tour of the Universe ride they had there? I thought the theming was really well done--they had these cool tickets which looked just like real airplane (...) (20 years ago, 28-Dec-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.loc.ca.on.tor)

  Re: limp-in mode

(...) Yeah, most modern vehicles with an ECU of some sort have this limp in mode. For extra FYI, in some vehicles, attaching anything to the OBD connector forces the ECU into limp in. (...) So can you pull the drive and move it onto another machine? (...) (20 years ago, 28-Dec-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  limp-in mode

whilst perusing my '88 Dodge Dakota manual, looking for engine light codes and what they stand for, I read that the truck has a 'limp in' mode, meaning that if there was an issue that the truck computer noticed, the computer would still allow you to (...)   Re: [rtlToronto] Peach sporadically unavailable

(...) OK, lets just set the record straight Mr. Tsang, and that other chick! (aka smurfette) 1. it was ~I~ who borrowed a 10 GIG spare drive from Calum to PUT all that data on. 2. I was following ALL of calums advice for a clean install of XP, on a (...) (20 years ago, 27-Dec-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: [rtlToronto] Peach sporadically unavailable

(...) Well, Chris is claiming that XP automatically formats ALL attached drives. I'm not sure if this is true, but my Nortel New Product Introduction coordinator instincts would be to try this on an isolated system in the lab to verify his claim. (...)   Re: [rtlToronto] Peach sporadically unavailable

(...) LOL!!! No way! He reformatted not only his old drive but the one used to back up his data? You have to admit, for a guy that seems to pride himself on having a clue, well, that's just too funny. Wow, so much for geek intuition, even *I* would (...)   Re: [rtlToronto] Peach sporadically unavailable

(...) I blame certain grad students in our lab who "demand" to have access to their "academic work" and such requested their storage directories be mounted on Peach instead of "being left to rot" while "their graduate degrees are put on hold". (My (...) (20 years ago, 27-Dec-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  [rtlToronto] Peach sporadically unavailable

Hi folks, Peach will be sporadically up and down these next few days due to a malfunctioning SCSI disk subsystem. A new set of SCSI disks were added from a dying server, and those new disks are causing the old disks some grief. Either way, we'll (...) (20 years ago, 26-Dec-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: I found a loophole in the system.

(...) I do very well, you're only ~10 minutes from the 'Tax when you're in Paris :) I supose the argument would be "Why would you not have any money at all?" I try to carry at least $20 on me or so, in case I get in trouble somewhere... Iain (20 years ago, 24-Dec-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: I found a loophole in the system.

(...) I'm with you Chris. I've had this discussion with others, and maybe you too. Yes, it makes sense not to accept Interac, but ONLY when there is a line-up! But when you're at a Tim Horton's, midmorning, in the town of Paris, Ontario, and it (...) (20 years ago, 24-Dec-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

(...) Eh, it kinda makes sense. It's a speed thing - every Interac transaction might take 20 seconds or so, but if you just give them a $2 then that's that and you're on your way, next person please.
