November 20--set up starts at 6 a.m. Yes I said 6 a.m. Exhibitors are allowed to use the drive in to the building right exclusively--no vendors are allowed to drive in during the 6 to 7:30 for set up.   Re: Arrrgghhh!!!!! (part deux)

(...) Pft. World of Warcraft, baby! (...) I read this far before I said "IE". Then I also said "Firefox". And probably "Reinstall, and/or Spybot S&D". (...) Try Spybot - it's actually pretty good at rooting these things out: (URL) (...) Cool! Sounds (...) (20 years ago, 16-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Arrrgghhh!!!!! (part deux)

So I purchased a brand spankin' new 'puter system yesterday ('cause EQ2's been out for over a week now and I'm missing the lands o' norrath...) and I takes the system to work, to configure it in my spare time. So I put XP Pro ion it, get all the (...) (20 years ago, 16-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Aargh...

(...) (snip) (...) Good question, and one you should, in my view, ask first. Often the answer will be some sort of extra payment to your club in addition to the appearance fee. At least that has been the experience of some clubs. Many clubs tend to (...) (20 years ago, 16-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Aargh...

(...) I'd have to agree that's a point in your favor. Just today I heard a story about a women (I think it was in Virginia) who was arrested for trying to pass a $200 bill with President Bush (!) on the front. She claimed she thought it was real. (...)   Re: Aargh...

(...) The kit seemed to be a big success, at least raising some awareness I think. The build area didn't get set up, as I recall, simply due to a lack of available bodies to monitor it. I had intended to bring the bricks to this year's show in case (...) (20 years ago, 16-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Aargh...

(...) :) Quick, someone get Gargamel some pie. He is getting cranky again! Janey "How many times do I have to say RED not blue Brick?" P.S. Just to clarify, the kids table there was not my idea, I just stepped to the plate with Paul. Just as I (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

  Re: Aargh...

(...) Frickin Ottawa folks...ruining it all for us. Wait a second...wasn't JANEY behind that?! I TOLD YOU! SMURFETTE IS AT THE ROOT OF OUR PROBLEMS AGAIN! :) (...) Good work Dave! And not a 2x4 used either. Calum (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Aargh...

(...) The monarchy gives us attractive currency and a subtle heritage we don't need to reassert every July 4th. As for official languages, yeah, you have me on that point. (...) Well, in all honesty I think the Bionicle line is pretty violent. The (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Aargh...

(...) Those darn Ottawa Lego Train GUYS!!! What were they thinking???? (wink) (...) Excellent, looking forward to it. Janey "Red Brick" (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

  Re: Aargh...

(...) Well, just got off the phone with Frank, one of the shows organizers. He himself just got back from a train show in Ottawa, where the LEGO train guys had the table for kids to play with LEGO Bricks. Anyway, after speaking with Frank, I was (...)   Re: Aargh...

(...) Awe, come on, only roughly half of us did <grin>. And to give us some credit, we at least threw off the monarchy, and don't (yet) have different official languages in different regions. Yet... (...) I see your point, like the fact that the (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Aargh...

(...) Don't get all bent out of shape on this one Dave, I suspect it's not your communication (which is plenty friendly) but a bunch of overassuming selfish organizers. Every organizer seems to feel us volunteering, nonprofit groups, should take the (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Aargh...

(...) No, we did not, precisely for the reason it came with the attached string that we set up a play area. We thought about it (I think JeffVW suggested it initially) but decided against it because it meant someone had to bring them to every event (...) (...) this. My wife has a friend I don't get along with for this reason (1). However, didn't you guys get an event kit from Jake with a K8 in it? I'm not sure, but it seems that's exactly what those are for. Of course, I know someone may still be (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Aargh...

(...) I'm seriously hoping this was an oversight on their part. The cynic in me believes the worst in them, this approach is probably better and assumes there was just some misunderstanding. While I'm largely offended by their request of such an (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Aargh...

(...) I hope as well, but, as a good friend mentioned the other day, I don't think people will be storming out, angry, because 'Little Timmy' can't play with an 'interactive LEGO display'. For our first few forays into the realm of 'official model (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) That said, the term DCC has shown up in numerous conversations 'cause, well, I do run DCC, and I'd imagine, if folks are okay with it, the bottom loops will hopefully be DCC--I'll have all equipment there. Dave K (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
