  Re: My Train2 Layout

(...) The impression I got from Iain and JeffVW on group was that there was a desire to run two rings, which I think is pretty nice too-it lets you have two operators on a main line. The problem is where. The outer line yes, everyone agrees on that, (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jun-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: My Train2 Layout

(...) Iain, it wasn't going to be any narrower than four modules wide anyways. But, yes, you're right, it does constraint a layout to four wide. I don't have much of a choice unless I tear up years of work. I've already spent part of a weekend (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jun-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: suction cup robot

(...) My robot is hungry, so it is going to eat blocks. I couldn't bring myself to rely on pushing blocks past the gap in the middle of the field without getting stuck. My 'eating' mechanism was indeed a challenge to build, but it is pretty much (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jun-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) It will walk up any smooth surface, but glass is the best. I demoed it at school for some people, and it crawled up a white board quite well. It will be much cooler when (and if) I automate the vacuum pump... Rob (23 years ago, 5-Jun-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: My Train2 Layout

(...) Its interesting to see how things will go with this module....I think it will be quite hard to get everyone to have standard lengths (and to accommodate their display pieces...integration) I find it even hard to get my self to start organizing (...)   ROBOTS - good news

For all of us who will be entering a robot: I spent an hour or two at the shop today, with the game board. I went around with sandpaper, and polyfill. the game board is as flat as it will ever get. there is still a SLIGHT lip/gap where the 2 halfs (...)   My Train2 Layout

Hi folks, Here's what I'm going to be bringing to train2: (URL) that while the ends are spaced to the PNLTC spec, the lengths are off. Which means I'll be figuring out a spacer to integrate with the next module over (ie, a half track wide piece of (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jun-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Actually, you should rephrase your comment to "It's not my fault you went ahead and built your town 3 plates deep back in 1995". But I'm not asking anyone to fit their layout to mine, in fact, the last two messages I've very obviously said I'm (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jun-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
