  Re: Fed UP????

I want to thank every one for your replies. Not that there was much of a chance I'd back out of going to BrickFest, I was getting very concerned it would be a single themed event. One that I'm not interested in at all. Thank you for reminding me of (...) (20 years ago, 20-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Windturbine: Kitchener-Waterloo/St Jacobs

In addition to the ~3 m turbine someone has erected in their backyard visible from my apartment building, I discovered a nice turbine about 5 km from the St Jacob's Farmer's Market (home of Bricks and Blocks). (3 URLs) no idea the history of it, all (...) (20 years ago, 20-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  8436 - Truck :)

I just phoned Bricks and Blocks, the store which sells LEGO in St Jacobs at the Farmer's Market. They said they'll have the 8436 ( (URL) ) sometime in August, $116. :D :D :D :D I haven't bought LEGO in so long. So excited! I wonder what the box (...)   Re: Fed UP with rtl

(...) No, I guess I don't know who in the group does robots, and who doesn't. I actually assumed Derek did robots, because at rtl 15, he was the only person from Toronto who had a robot that could actually play Connect-Four. (Even if it was littered (...)   Re: Gauging interest in The Hobby Show 2004 - Toronto, ON

(...) No, I just expect to be able to make fun of you for not having enough blue to cover your two remaining 48x48 baseplate so you had to borrow from me. An amount of blue that didn't even dent my overflow bin. :-) Actually I'm finally building (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Fed UP with rtl

(...) Ah, nothing like flaming Steve with a complete lack of sleep! I think the issue with BrickFest was that no one ever goes except for the crowd that does non-robot stuff, ie, Derek, JeffVW, JeffE, DaveK etc. It just happens the (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Gauging interest in The Hobby Show 2004 - Toronto, ON

(...) I'm all for it, but I have the least to bring as usual. (...) Hey, you knew where those pieces were going?! Do you expect me to buy 4496's to replace all that blue? :) Actually, I wonder how many 4496's I'd need?! Calum (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Fed UP with rtl

(...) oh, just saving my breath. It seems the rtl events have really taken a turn for the worse. Six months ago, you guys were laughing at people who entered events like line-following or sumo.   Re: Gauging interest in The Hobby Show 2004 - Toronto, ON

(...) Well I'll bring the buggy again as well as a new one. (...) Well it's been discussed loosely at dinners and in direct conversations. I don't know if the discussion ever made it to the news group. Basically we decided we didn't want to do more (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Gauging interest in The Hobby Show 2004 - Toronto, ON

(...) Bigger than 12X space buggy? :) (...) Is that the general consensus of rtlToronto? I apologize if it's been discussed on LUGNET. I might have missed it, but I hadn't heard that until now.   Re: Gauging interest in The Hobby Show 2004 - Toronto, ON

(...) I've got two large sculptures that I was hoping to display at the hobby show, and I think we at rtlToronto want to use the hobby show as our second train display of the year. I think the timing is perfect for that. Derek (20 years ago, 18-Jul-04, to lugnet.events, lugnet.loc.ca.on, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Gauging interest in The Hobby Show 2004 - Toronto, ON

(...) I was contacted by the show organizers who are asking whether or not we will be attending the show this year to put on the LEGO booth again.   Barrel Racing?

My better half and I were watching the Calgary Stampede on TV the other night, and I say to myself...."Self, now barrel racing, that would be a cool idea for a robot contest!" Any thoughts?
