Re: Looking for isographic/axonometric lego graph paper

(...) Is this what you're looking for? I just threw it together in 'paintbrush', it's not 100% accurate but it looks pretty close: (URL) would be pretty easy to scale to a larger size, too. JohnG, GMLTC (21 years ago, 26-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Matter of time...

(...) I have to ask this question, again, because I don't think it was really answered last time. Is the 3 minute limit a hard limit (you go over, you lose) or is it just recommended (like the rules say) so, if you go over it, people start to point (...)   Looking for isographic/axonometric lego graph paper

I'm wondering if anyone has found a source (or program to generate) axonometric (also known as isometric afaik) graph paper with the 6/5 ratio of standard bricks? TIA- Rob A. (21 years ago, 26-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Matter of time...

(...) I say at the press..... if only to avoid the BS of having a robot continue to press it. (at this point, aren't we really just dealing with milliseconds?) (...) yes you can manually send a signal to your robot..... and sometime when my block (...) (21 years ago, 26-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Matter of time...

on a related time note.... I was just reminded of the rules that says that not only are you limited to 3 min a turn. BUT the entire game is 40 min long!!! UGN!! that means that if i want to ply for every turn to the max of 3 min, then that only (...) (21 years ago, 26-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Matter of time...

I have a couple timing/handoff questions. First, when does a player's time start? Is it when the other robot/arbitrator presses the EOT button, or when they release it? Also, if a robot misses the EOT signal, will they lose right then, or will (...) (21 years ago, 26-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Rat no good fer nothing...!!!

So my little tiny unassuming web server got hit with some stupid virus! Grr!!! This is why i hate the world. Anyway, after patches and installing ZA and other things, I hope it's back up. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program... Dave (...) (21 years ago, 24-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Has anybody successfully added an RCX to 7471 Mars Rover?

(...) I've been wondering about this for a while, but if the final result does end up being a bit sluggish, or not quite powerful enough to drive over small pebbles, would it help to hook two drive motors up to each of the center wheels? I get the (...) (21 years ago, 24-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

Re: Has anybody successfully added an RCX to 7471 Mars Rover?

(...) Well, halfway there! I've replaced the middle tire assemblies with some stepped-down motors and attached them to the actual unit. The wires are threaded up through the guts of the structure and hooked up to the RCX. Success! It moves and moves (...) (21 years ago, 24-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

Re: Marble Sorting - Hey Dave K

(...) Hence the "complete darkness" bit in the question. :)) Given the size of the ‘bot I don’t think it’s much of a challenge to completely shield the light sensor from all ambient light. I’m just wondering if it’s possible to reliably tell the (...) (21 years ago, 23-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Marble Sorting - Hey Dave K

(...) DaveK I suspect is incommunicado due to work (pfft. Work.) concerns. But we never knew the floor readings back in rtl3/4/5 anyways, because when you get to the Library all the lighting is different. Calum (21 years ago, 23-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Marble Sorting - Hey Dave K

(...) Hey Dave K, Do you like techno at all? If you do, what kind. Also, can you please post light sensor readings of the playing field, as well as of the white and black squares? Preferably shielded from ambient lightning or even in complete (...) (21 years ago, 23-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Has anybody successfully added an RCX to 7471 Mars Rover?

(...) I've been thinking that maybe it could work (not optimally, but it'd move) by redesigning the two center non-swivelling wheels with a motor on each, slaved from the same RCX control. Properly geared down, it may have enough oomph to move the (...) (21 years ago, 22-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Has anybody successfully added an RCX to 7471 Mars Rover?

(...) Nik built a 6 wheel rocker bogie rover (unsteered and straight drive, not geared) with 6 micromotors. It works, sort of. But as soon as you get in a little trouble terrainwise, if a motor binds up, you're done for. Those motors bind easily and (...) (21 years ago, 22-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Has anybody successfully added an RCX to 7471 Mars Rover?

(...) Me too - the Pathfinder rover was what ended my dark ages, trying to replicate the suspension. I did eventually make a non-steering rover body with the unsprung suspension that carried an RCX (massive structure, since I only had two motors and (...)   Re: rtl15 Rules Updated with Arbitrator clarification

(...) Thanks. I usually just freehand them in Microsoft ImageComposer in a sort of "cartoon MCAD like" style. It was a little freebie that came with FrontPage97 which I got used to many many years ago. It does 80% of what you need from PhotoShop on (...)
