  Re: Gasaraki 1, any good?

(...) I know that the Minbari's shuttles had what looked like 4 engines so I would presume that they are using standard propulsion methods, and one would suspect that the fighters are the same. I don't know about the cruisers but the White Star (...) (23 years ago, 26-Aug-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Gasaraki 1, any good?

Yes, B5 ships actually obey the laws of physics by accelerating and deccelerating. Unlike 'Trek. In ST the ships always act like atmospheric vehicles, namely in the manner that they don't have to deccelerate/reaccelerate to turn around.   Re: Gasaraki 1, any good?

(...) Yeah, B5 fighters Starfuries have thrusters on the front and sides, allowing omni-directional movement. They used the slide factor alot for combat (Fighter trajectory going the oppsite direction of the fighter). And in reply to Jeff's comment (...)   Re: Gasaraki 1, any good?

(...) Yep, the human fighters (Starfuries) require manuevering jets to change direction and speed. The only other race I know offhand how they operate are the Minbari's, which use gravity generators. I'm not sure if they have them on their fighters (...) (23 years ago, 26-Aug-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Gasaraki 1, any good?

(...) Yes, and I watched some of them before you were born. :^) (...) Really? Which episodes? I only remember lots of Vipers zooming around. I also only recall Base Stars closing distance enough to spew Raiders at the rag tag fugitive fleet. There's (...)   Re: Gasaraki 1, any good?

(...) Ha?! As a Grand Admiral I assume you have also seen all of the shows I am referring above. There are capital ship fights in BG and I am also positive that it came before SW (but that is irrelevant). What I am referring is about the style of (...)   Re: Gasaraki 1, any good?

(...) Errrm, what? Star Trek came first, but isn't really comparable to BG, since ST is so capital ship based. I don't recall any BG episodes where cap ships duke it out. Star Wars was before BG, so if anything spawned anything else, BG was spawned (...) (23 years ago, 25-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Be afraid...be VERY afraid...

(...) Eh! Now that MacOS X is esentially just another Unix/Linux flavor, I think the overall "war" is moot anyway. MS will catch-up/on sooner or later, and join the bandwagon, too...you'll see. I'll tell you what, though...as an end user who relies (...) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Be afraid...be VERY afraid...

(...) I'm just taking it as a joke. BUT... given that UNIX exists, a Mac/Win war is kind of like two tribes of ants fighting over the picnic basket scraps. Sooner or later the real power (UNIX) is going to go home and have a real dinner, no matter (...) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Be afraid...be VERY afraid...

The only operating system I have heard of NOT crashing is a Unix/Linux install if it's done right. Does the new MAC not crash? If the new MAC crashes, this thread is the usual boring Guy Kawasaki zombie crap. There are trade offs with everything -- (...) Classic, Matthew! I had heard that Apple was going to do this starting with the release of the G4, but I had not seen that actual document. Thanks for posting it.   Be afraid...be VERY afraid...

OK...I admit it...I'm a Mac user, and damn proud of it. But today, I'm a little scared. It seems that Macintosh computers are just to powerful!
