So, what's this about eye biting monkeys? I need a little help on that one

Well, the tale of the ‘eye-bitin’ monkey’ may not have the illustrious past
of 'advent,' but I'll be happy to direct you towards the path of mayhem.

[At the bottom of this ^ post there is an outline of his adventures.]

This game possibly predates your birth

BTW, I'm 21, is this ‘granddaddy’ really before my time…
(I didn’t know computers even existed before 1980!?!)

Ah, the youth of the world... This is a reference to the granddaddy of all
computer RPG games: 'advent'. This game possibly predates your birth, it's a
text adventure and it first ran on mainframes, although it was ported
*everywhere* (1). The game Zork from Infocom supposedly is an outgrowth of
it, IIRC.

file for anything hackish..)

http://www.rickadams.org/adventure/ (semioffical appearing, well indexed)
http://www.rickadams.org/adventure/a_history.html (good history)

(the above is by no means a complete reference, this game is in CompSci
folklore and lots of pages are out there)
