    Herring —Erik Olson
Mm! Herring for breakfast. A penguin's favorite holiday! (23 years ago, 1-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

(...) Somebody's been watching "Wrong Trousers" on Comedy Central?? ++Lar (responding to as many sillicisms as I can in .fun is a reason my post totals are so high) (23 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

(...) Probably. OTOH, I realized that if I had been posting on lugnet since it started, in the same frequency I had been posting between Dec. 1999 and mid-July 2000, I'd have more posts than even you do. <gasp> -Shiri (lucky fifth blabbermouth) (23 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

         Re: Herring —Erik Olson
(...) No, I really did breakfast on herring. Yum! Last night I ate sardines before I figured out there was herring in the jar. That's why there was herring leftover to eat today. Yum! I bet there is still one more herring chunk down among the (...) (23 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Erik & All, (...) jar. (...) Boy, I don't think I ever have seen someone so dedicated to herring. I had the usual waffles, leftover pizza from last night (Yum.... leftover Cottage Inn Pizza...), ten or so Pepsi One's, and a Bill Knapps meal. The (...)           Re: Herring —Erik Olson
Show me leftover pizza, and I would drop the whole penguin act! On the other hand: I was in Nova Scotia, and was offered smoked salmon as a pizza topping. That was *so* good! Not so good: I have never seen so many brussels sprouts served as in this (...) (23 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

        Re: Herring —Maggie Cambron
(...) Erik's penchant is... how shall I say it... well, atypical. Now MY favorite breakfast would be Brie cheese (must contain at least 62 percent fat) and chocolate (I'm not picky here-- Hershey's will do). Unfortunately I can't have them often or (...)         Re: Herring —Erik Olson
(...) Hey, is Brie becoming more popular? Are you seeing it more grocery stores? I did not know it had that much fat in it. Makes sense though. I like brie... They kept me away from the herring for DAYS. All through the holiday season. Every time I (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

        Re: Herring —Maggie Cambron
(...) I don't know if it is or not. They seem to carry it in a lot of supermarkets, but I never buy it there because you never know how long it's been sitting there and so either it takes on the taste of plastic wrapping or it isn't as runny around (...)    (...) Cut down a tree with a herring?? It can't be done! Anyway, no herring under my tree this year-- only a ten pound chocolate bar (well there was more, but I had no trouble eating the rest).         Re: Herring —Erik Olson
It's that time of year when I post of herring. Ekastor! On my second trip to the supermarket in Wisconsin with my niece to buy last minute items, I picked up a jar of herring.
