Re: One nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

John: The founding fathers were not religious and they were certainly not christians -- and that's putting it mildly. More anon... (...) If you had read my response down a few threads, you would have seen that I thought this was a fresh debate topic, not a follow-up post with a new heading to a previous (...) It can be summed up with a few definitions which should help clarify (and these definitions are scholarly, you can disagree with them if you wish - I'm just putting out (...)   Re: LP statement on terrorist attacks

(...) Lar, in this crises, good or bad, the "two big parties" in power hold the only opinions that will be acted upon. While many people and groups may hold opinions, the decisions about to be made will be made by those in power. A very simple (...) (23 years ago, 15-Sep-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) This IS a great question, and I have trouble putting my finger on the difference too. Actually I'm not terribly familiar with many video games at all, so most of what I have heard is secondhand (and I prefer to keep it that way). My impression (...)   LP statement on terrorist attacks

The following is a statement from the US LP, received on my mailing list. I know I've been foaming a bit but I think it is worth publishing here (1) note particularly that it seems to be in tune with what a lot of people are saying: - we need a (...) Clint, I fully supported you up until the WWII comment. It belittles the contributions made by all the people who fought for freedom around the world, including Americans. When I mentioned South Africa, I was talking more about how individuals could keep the struggle in the public consciousness by avoid the products of companies who did invest in South Africa. Well, I won't go around telling you what to do -- but I disagreed strongly with most of that on a personal level.
