Re: Sex Scandal: U.S. President had sex with Intern!

(...) Indeed. Does the bible not say that females who commit adultery should be stoned? Scott A (21 years ago, 13-May-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Kissing heinie at its finest

(URL) can 'look down' on the French or (insert your 'picked-on' country of choice--Italy has had a few jokes at its expense) for decades, but woe unto us who find the arrogance of the US contemptable. Did, and does the US still contribute a whole (...) (21 years ago, 13-May-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Sex Scandal: U.S. President had sex with Intern!

(...) And why is that? Why should the "church" tell two people, who want to live in the institution of marriage, that they can't just because those two folks are of the same sex? Where in the teachings of Jesus does it say, "Marriage is good for (...) (21 years ago, 13-May-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Sex Scandal: U.S. President had sex with Intern!

(...) You may be right. It amounts to something like this: I don't judge others by my own possibly limited notion of what is right and wrong for me as being right and wrong for them; unless they are dragging me down with them, then my hand is forced (...)   Re: Sex Scandal: U.S. President had sex with Intern!

(...) Sorry to burst yours, but they aren't married (by the Catholic church). (...) What's this "world" stuff? We are talking about marriage in the Christian context. I don't know what you are talking about. (...) It seems to me that you don't know (...) (21 years ago, 13-May-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Sex Scandal: U.S. President had sex with Intern!

Sorry to burst your bubble, John; but I know gay men that attend a Catholic church regularly. Again, the world is not limited to the flavors you would impose upon it. Indeed, the world doesn't care about the restrictions you would place upon it. It (...) (21 years ago, 13-May-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Sex Scandal: U.S. President had sex with Intern!

(...) From the beginning? Do you suppose she would have married him in the first place knowing that he would cheat on her in the future? I doubt it. (...) That may be so, but we are discussing in the context of marriage, and a Christian marriage at (...) (21 years ago, 13-May-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Sex Scandal: U.S. President had sex with Intern!

(...) You bring up exceptions, which are not to what I was referring. Speaking about the Clintons, I am sure that they got married in a Christian church and exchanged wedding vows (if I am wrong in this assumption, then I retract my condemnation). (...)   Re: Sex Scandal: U.S. President had sex with Intern!

(...) What if, in a person's chosen ideology, the fact that someone has relations with others are not their spouse is not only acceptible but welcomed, would they then be the disgusting pig that you referred to? What if the same person didn't choose (...) (21 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Sex Scandal: U.S. President had sex with Intern!

(...) Here's where you have to consider what things mean and weigh your estimate of people's intelligence and character. Do you think Hilary Clinton is an idiot that didn't know her husband had a long string of affairs with other women? Or is it (...) (21 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Sex Scandal: U.S. President had sex with Intern!

(...) Say again? If you cheat on your wife, no matter how often, then you are a disgusting pig. JOHN (21 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Sex Scandal: U.S. President had sex with Intern!

(...) What planet are you from? When I am lucky I commit these "transgressions" on a nightly basis. -- Hop-Frog (21 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Michael Moore gets money from Disney

(...) Jeez! Dr. Laura is disliked not because of her religious or political views, but because she is a bigot and spreads a message of hatred against gays, bisexuals, and those involved in BDSM. Her attacks on people participating in alternative (...) (21 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Sex Scandal: U.S. President had sex with Intern!

(...) You may be missing the subtle insinuation here. To many liberals JFK was the be all of what a president should be. Many would love for Clinton to be the second coming of Kennedy and do all they can to resurrect his legacy. As Clinton will (...) (21 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Sex Scandal: U.S. President had sex with Intern!

"Author says JFK had affair with 19-year- old intern" (URL) had no skills. She could answer the phone," Robert Dallek, author of "An Unfinished Life," told "Dateline NBC" in an interview that aired Sunday. "Apparently, her only skill was to provide (...)   Re: Michael Moore gets money from Disney

(...) While that is a great quote, and very true, I am not so sure that it completely applies here. I believe that Disney’s decision is directly related to the ideology of Michael Eisner and those in his inner circle. I just wait to see if there is (...)   Re: Michael Moore gets money from Disney

Well, I don't go to the movies to decide issues of consequence -- occasionally a film makes a relevant point, but not too often. I have also never read a MM book or seen any of his movies, so I have no real opinion of him besides what I am able to (...) (21 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Michael Moore gets money from Disney

... a great MM quote: "One of the wonderful flaws of capitalists is that they will actually help me produce something against their interests, if they can make a dime out of it." Scott A (21 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Michael Moore gets money from Disney

Granted I believe this is a good relationship as much of Michael Moore’s works belong in fantasyland, but why would Michael Eisner and Disney make such a move? Michael Moore is at best a film maker of questionable integrity and at worst partisan (...) (21 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

" the need for a UN-led process to establish a legitimate Iraqi government"
