(...) Blok-Tek was made by Coko. I believe that Coko is a clone of both Tyco and Lego. Some of their stuff is almost exactly like Tyco, while some of their bricks are only available from Lego. In recent months I've acquired a number of old clone sets, and I've noticed some clear similarities that make me wonder about the connections between the various manufacturers. I've thought about getting these baseplates occasionally (the first used toy store I went to had one of the dinosaur sets, complete with baseplate) since they might make nice islands for the Pirate Game, but I just keep holding off. The Velociraptor and Parasaurolophus dinosaur sets of some years ago came with smallish raised baseplates in a dark tan color.
