Last night at Target (Mira Mesa, San Diego) my wife and I were doing our usual browse pattern. I peeled off to check out the action figure aisle while she went on ahead to the Lego aisle. Start checking daily - the Target in Sunnyvale, CA, had them on clearance when I checked this morning (bought out all the cabooses, waiting to see if the Big Train set drops further), and Bay Area Targets seem to clearance later than anywhere across (...) I made a quick stop at the Plymouth Meeting, PA Target in the Philadelphia suburbs. The large train set is on clearance for $111 Caboose around $10 Passenger car around $13 Log carrier car around $11 They had about 15 of each car and 10 of the large (...) I believe, that in general, if a new product does not move in a few weeks, Target will blow it out. I think this is a great strategy by Target. I'm no retail expert, but I think selling a slow moving item at a cut price and getting fresh stock on (...) (22 years ago, 13-Dec-02, to lugnet.market.theory)

I don't think much of a leap is needed to figure out how *that* particular product line is going... I've never seen TRU slap an orange clearance sticker on a toy as fast as they did for Galidor.
