Actually the three examples of the plural form given in my OED are all
"cabooses".  However, recalling the other times this subject has come up here,
and considering the identities of those who use the less common form, I have
concluded that both forms are correct and that the preference is much like
that of sf over sci fi-- i.e., the word is used as a marker to distinguish
those who are true trainheads from those who are not.
